I have been in a really snacky mood lately. I always feel like munching on something, but the problem is that I like to munch on things that aren't so good for me. I could use some new creative low carb snack ideas. Anybody??

Honey Greek yogurt - a few blueberries or strawberries. 2 oz of yogurt with fruit & a tea spoon of granola fresh. Just a pick me up

I am very new to this Type 2 diabetes. I was not aware snacking is permitted. I eat 3 low carb meals a day and that is it.

Emerald Brand Cocoa Roasted or Cinnamon Roasted Almonds. About 24 nuts have 6 grams of carb They are sweetened with Splenda and satisfy my need for crunch. For a real treat, I take one square of fine dark chocolate (Lindt; 4 grams carb) and top with 1 tbsp of all-natural peanut butter (3 grams carb)…total carbs for that: 7 grams. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Pistachios. I love them. I buy them in the shell so they take more time to eat and I enjoy the challenge of getting the hard ones out. I try to always keep them on hand

HI Jeanette.Having the same concern, and feeling hungry on several occasions during the day I used to make a list of snacks: carrots cut into pieces, few nuts,2 cups of popcorn made in the microwave, lettuce leaves, yughort with diet jam, oat flakes, assorted tuna, oat biscuits, skimed milk with small black chocolate, and so on , you can of course make your own list these are only some ideas, good luck.

What a great question. Usually for my morning snack I have a cheese stick, that seems to fill "that" empty pocket in my tummy. At night I usually have some nuts, almonds or pistachios. I sometimes will change either of those up with fresh berries or a "cutie" orange. *Hugs* Cheryl

I like snacking on a low fat mozzarella stick wrapped with a slice or two of deli meat. Easy to eat with no real preparation.

I like baby carrots for some reason. Always have. I also like celery with peanut butter or cheese. While I'm on the road I keep a jar of peanut butter in the truck. A teaspoon can carry me a long way I found out…

one of the things I love in blueberry season, a friend has many bushes and lets us go pick and we freeze some of them, and in the heat of summer, it is so nice to just take them out and eat them plain, they are so tasty they don't need anything else. I love to make low carb smoothies with unsweetened almond milk, berries, and things like that, sometimes using some yogurt, I have some recipes that I've tried, but everyone has to be careful, some of them have too many carbs.

My favorites are berries (blackberries or strawberries), small apple w/cheese, nuts, string cheese, thinly sliced cucumbers in champayne vinegar, left over vegetable and chicken stir fry, water with the juice of a lemon, asian salad with chicken bits, baby carrots and hummus, green beans with almonds, apple with peanut butter… …

Berries. They don't seem to effect my BG levels much. Strawberries are sweet right now so it appeases my sweet-tooth.

Hi, I envy you, I have the same challenge but 9times on 10 I succeed to resist, I had a good advice, you have to put every 9 nuts apart in a small packet and once to feel in need to eat nuts you take only one packet and eat it one by one very slowly, you will find some difficulties in the few first times but if you succeed to resist and hope so you will end your problem for ever, good luck.
