Being new here I am not sure where to look to see if this topic has been discussed before, but I have it and cannot keep food in my stomach what should I do. Any suggestions on what to eat, I know I need to keep hydrated but that is about it. jackie

So glad to hear you are feeling better Jackie. I am also a believer in the gingerale remedy (vernors). My Mom used to give me that. My sister-in-law swears by 7-up. Lisa

Hi Jackie,
Yes when you have the stomach flu, with vomiting and/or diarrhea you should keep hydrated and try to eat a liquid diet if you can keep anything down at all. BUT jello should be the regular kind not the sugar free, same for juices and puddings etc… Just keep your serving sizes to the normal carbs you eat at a meal and take your meds or insulin as you normally do, unless your doctor tells you not to. Tea is good for tummy troubles. Also the best thing for nausea is warm, somewhat flat Coca Cola (regular), you sip it slowly over time not gulp it down. The ingredients in Coke were originally a nausea medication back in the day!!! If you aren't eating anything else or vomiting regularly the regular products won't hurt you but watch the serving size.

Good luck

You know in the future if you cannot keep anything they say to boil some rice and drink the water like a tea. It also works for babies.
