Finally got my fasting Blood Sugar in the range of 160 to 187 in the last month but I still have more work ahead of me. Had doctors appt. yesterday and I'm still not getting enough fluid in my body. I have had 2 IV's this month and I drink water all the time. I don't get it… Any advice?

I am so sorry to hear this. I have no idea, but I see others do, and I hope you can get to the root of the problem soon and that it never happens again.

Water intake is a huge debate, but if you are requiring IV's then maybe something like coconut water will help. That has electrolytes that will hydrate you. However, water should do the trick. Do you know how much you take in? Do you exercise a lot or are in a very dry climate? What has your doctor said about ways to help with it?

There r coconut drinks in can , that are usually full of sugar … A recent fad ( it became super popular sold everywhere , but has ceased ) is coconut water … It's yummy , reminds if when as a kid growing up in Hawaii we would crack coconuts open and drink the water within … It's healthy , got electrolytes like Gabby said and it's low in sugar … Ask someone @ your local grocery store …

I found at the Wilco/Hess travel centers that taste good but has sugar. It comes in a green square shaped bottle. The last time I was in Indiana I found the same brand, which I can't remember, also has a no sugar version. Good luck on finding. Some times you have to keep asking at the grocery store! It has worked for at Wal*Mart and Kroger…

Hi Teresa, check out PowerAide Zero, no sugars, just electrolytes and minerals. We looked a long time to find something like this with no sugars. Are you on a diuretic? Also do you go p alot or sweet alot??? what else do you drink besides water??
I drink over 100 oz of water a day and at times I feel like I'm dehydrated, which concentrates the blood, which will also raise your blood sugar
Good luck… just keep a positive attitude :)

Doc says to keep drinking the water and its not dry here… Still not able to exercise as much as I would like but I am gradually getting my strength back. I went undiagnosed for so long that I have lost alot of weight and some muscle. I a major water drinker and have been for a long time. Doc said that my body is just having a hard time catching back up… I'm going today and look for the coconut water! Thanks so much Gabby :0) I appreciate the advice!
