Is anyone on generic Lipitor? I'm on Metformin and was doing a pretty good job of keeping my readings on track. It seems since I added the Lipitor I'm having a lot of trouble keeping it regulated.

I am on the generic Lipitor and have noticed no changes in my blood sugars. Has anything else changed in regard to your diabetes management? I find that periodically my sugars just quit responding to the treatment plan I am on and then it is off to find something else that works for me. I hope that is not your issue. Good luck.

Lipitor is a statin drug, and some statins do raise blood sugars. You may want to revisit this with your doctor because it seems counter-productive to the effects of the Met.
I’m on a combination cholesterol/blood pressure med called Caduet (generic version) which has had no significant effects on my blood sugar.
Again, talk to your doctor (and get some free advice from your pharmacist) to see if there may be an alternative.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I will talk to my pharmacist soon.

My pharmacist said the statin drugs could cause high BS and she doesn't really know of any that wouldn't. I had been on Crestor for a short time when I was diagnosed and that probably wasn't just a coincidence.
