I have been offline and am now having eye site trouble so this one will be short and to the point. Over the last year I have missed this Discussion and need to restart it to get back on track. In May of 2011 I changed Drs. and the one I have now is helping me to be in charge of my care. It is a learning experience and have really lost the weight since Dec. 3, 2010 went from 268 pounds on the high end down to 196 just 3 weeks ago. I am on Victoza, walking 1-2 miles aday and following my Diabetic Diet more faithfully then I have since 2009. I switched Doctors because the one I was seeing didn't want to listen to me on needing to lose weight he wouldn't give me anything to help me lose the weight he kept tellijg me to lose. one of the side effects to Victoza is weight loss.

Diet, Exercise and Moods May 2013 is the next Discussion for next Month. In June I am shortening it back to Diet and Exercise for each Month from now on for all to find it easier.

Well this last week has gone by real quick. I have been walking a lot this past week. I am going to have to come on here daily to keep posting regularly I can't remember which day it was I went for my first long walk since my Sister Toni went back to Alabama in Sept. But any way I walked from our Trailer to the highway, North on 31 to State Rd. 18 that part took me 10 mins. I stopped in at McClure's Gas Station got me a Mond's and ate it on the walk From McClure's I went down 18 to the walking trail that took me another 10 mins. had frst 2 bites of the Monds and then drank some of my Lemonade and started South on the Walking trail I walked from 18 to County Road 1350 I'm not sure how long that part took me all I know is that I left home at 10:15 when I got to 1350 I turned left and headed for 31 again. When I got to 31 I headed North again till I got back to the Trailer Park I got there at 11;36 so I walked a total of 1 hour 21 mins and my legs didn't hurt as bad as I thought they would but they sure did the next 2 days. Last night we went to Tanner's Base Ball game it started at 7 and we left at 8:30 I was in bed by 9 and back up at 6 this morning. I posted all of my Blood Sugar Numbers for the past Month just to see what my Avg. is not as bad as I thought it would be but this Log Book on here sure helps me to see where I am messing up. I had to put a section in my Log Book for the Night time readings so now I will be able to keep a little better control of what my #s ar e and change some of my eating habits that are not so good. If I can bring the #s down by doing this then that is what I will do. It is getting warmer now so have to go to the warmer seasons food choices and write it all down to see what works best now. Can't wait to get our Trailer moved over to our own Lot so I can then have a garden I don't want to do any of that stuff unless I can be there to be sure no one helps them selves to the produce in it. And I don't want to put it too close to where the Trailer will be sitting or where Bill wants the Garage to be built. I am going to have him stake out the Garage area so he can atleast pour the floor area that will give me a visual of the area better to gage where and how big my garden will be. Not to big that I can't keep up on it the first year and then add alittle more each year after that as I feel like I can keep up with it and still keep up with my Quilting also. I miss my Quilting and Bill said he is not bringing any of it back into the Trailer till we get moved. He don't want to move it more than necessary he says. LOL Well I had better close for now and get me a bowl of cereal for my Breakfast as I am walking the same long walk again this morning leaving the house about 8 and see how long it takes me and Dene this morning. Dene said she would walk with me. We visit the sisters together for our Visiting Teaching. We share the word of God with them and do what ever we can for them that they can't do it is so rewarding to help others. I love doing it more and more each Month. Well will back later today and post again.

I was using the Log Book on here and found that my BG was down to 179.1 avg last week down 7 points from the week before. If it keeps going down like that each week I'll be doing real good. I am staying at 198.6 pounds. I need to tone up alot more before I can start losing some more. I am still walking some days it is now just a half mile but most days still a mile. It has been raining so much I am lucky to be getting in the half mile before it starts raining again. Lets hope it stops long enough to get my body back to the losing zone again. LOL I hope every one else is doing well on here. Have to run for now.

So glad Victoza is working for you, I loved it till my pancreas went crazy and I would go back on it if I could. I am loosing weight, but because of my Mysethemia Gravis, I am not allowed to exercise at all. Till I get that under control I am nearly bedridden, (I refuse to stay in bed, but I sit in a chair all day, and move around the house.) I saw my doctor today and she said I was doing too much. But I lost 6 lbs, I started at 275 for my high, I am now down to 234. I really wish I could walk, or do water aerobics or something. It gets so boreing just sitting here playing on the computer.

Do you like to read? I find that when I can't do very much because of my Back and legs pain where I can't even get my walking in completely I love to read and I read everything I can get my hands on. Do you have any Hobby? Mine is Quilting. It comes in handy when I am in pain and can't walk very far or do much in the line of housework some days. Right now all I can do is work on Quilt tops and small projects. Let me know is you need some one to talk to write me a note asking for my phone number and I will share it with you.

The last time I got on the scales it said 196.2 so I only have another 46.2 more pounds to get to my Goal weight. Can't wait to get there, if the Doc says I need to lose any more I will find out how much and go from there. Ok went to the Eye Surgeon yesterday they said stay on Meds for another 2-3 Months and see if my eye sight is better at that time. I may not need surgery yet she said. But if my eyes are still giving me trouble after that get back with them and we will see what can be done to correct them. my BG was 218 this morning. Not good but not as bad as it has been it is still coming down and not going up any more. that is the highest its been since I got back on my Victoza. Doc says if I can't afford it he will make sure I get it any way. He said all that I get from his office the Med companies can write it off as cherity on their taxes at the end of the year. So I will be getting it from there at the end of year from now on and on the Months I have no money left after paying my Bills and getting groceries. Check with your Doctors to see if you need Meds too and can't afford them any time if they can give you the ones you need too.
Today I am going to be cleaning house if I spend an hour on it I count it as 1 1/2 miles walking as I take breaks and it only takes me 20 Mins to walk a mile now. I can't keep on cleaning like I use to. Most days now it takes me all day to get everything done or just 1-2 rooms a day now.

Can you walk at all? My new Doctor told me to start out slow and just add alittle each day. I like walking and so it was easy for me to add alittle more each day. Start out in your home and when you can do alot of walking around your home get a step counter keep track of how many steps and the distance you go each day that counts. If you can do a little housework wear the step counter doing it those steps count also. Well that is all I can think of so far.

Oh I can walk on some days…I do short spurts of 15 mins a day 5 to 6 times a day…at the farthest a 1/2 mile..I had spine surgery 9 years ago, but have ostioarthritis…so its short and I do what I can…

The dog is a good motivator…cause she gets me out and going

Hi! that is so great that you have changed for the better. I don't understand some doctors and why there are doctors out there like that. I never met a doctor like that, and it seems like I'm reading more amore post like yours. Good for you for recognizing you need this change, congrats on the weight loss!!!

Welcome back and way to go. It's so encouraging to see you take control of your health. I will remember that about Victoza.
