I hope someone can understand the combination of issues with Diabetes and PCOS and Hashimoto's Disease(Thyroid disorder) along with food allergies of wheat and diary and a few others.

I have tried to lose weight but its really really hard. Ive lost about 100 pounds, but have much to go…Ive been on insulin for a year, and its been so helpful. I have better control now than I did with pills, I ended up being allergic to diabetic pills…to this day I dont know why…

If anyone has combinations like this…I would love to know…

Good for you in losing the weight and being on insulin. I've been on insulin for seven years and have gained 50 pounds.

First of all, Scarlet, WELCOME to DC! secondly, CONGRTULATIONS on your weight loss! Nearly 100 lbs, that was a great effort! Keep up the good work, girl! Who knows why one is allergic to certain foods or drinks or medications.

My late wife "Jem" was allergic to most antibiotics, and many medical tapes, as well as certain medications. She had multiple co-morbidities as well, most I believe having their roots in her Lupis (SLE).

I do not have Hashimoto's or PCOS (the latter I do not have the plumbing for it), so I can't help you there outside of getting articles on each and posting them here. If you think that would help, ask and I will see what I can do, but if you're looking for experience from actual sufferers, I cannot help there.

Praying for a healthier you!

Me too. I have the above without Hashi's. I'm hypothyroid with a goiter. Add chronic Lyme disease. I hate the way that sounds so let me say that I have been healed. My body is catching up with that healing.

The weight loss is definitely challenging. I'm so glad to hear that the insulin has helped you. I had 'heard' that once on insulin, weight loss is nearly impossible.

I have found digestive enzyme supplements help with my digestive issues. I'm working toward healing my gut. Not sure it will help me with the weight loss, but it will improve the quality of my life. If my tummy isn't happy, I'm not happy. Lol.

Ive maintained my weight for a year with insulin…now its just trying to eat right…being on the diabetic pills like Avandia made me gain weight…its hard when your thyroid changes twice a year…cause no matter eat or exercise..your thyroid is off…that means everything else follows suit
