Hey everyone. Most of you may know me from previous posts or discussions. I've been a diabetic (Type II) for about 3 years now. I wanted to let you guys know about a place I've found that really is pretty awesome.

As a Diabetic it's really tough to find the balance between my recommended carbs and what I actually eat. Breakfast usually consists of a Dunkin' Donuts ham egg and cheese english muffin and a large iced tea with Splenda. Lunch I've tried to do Saladworks and a regular dinner. Lately I've been really striving to lose more weight and eventually get off of oral meds. (Anyone on Metformin or any related drug knows the gastro distress it can cause!) A good solution seems to be to cut more carbs out, and replace it carefully with protein and fiber.

For those of you on the East Coast, check out Muscle Maker Grill, ( They tend to be up and down the East Coast but were founded in my home state of New Jersey. The philosophy is low calorie, high protein meals that are tasty. I've been eating more lunches and dinners here, and with the calorie deficits I've lost 10 pounds WITHOUT exercise in a few weeks. I don't feel hungry, actually most times I'm pretty full until the next meal. They have a little of everything, even some entries with whole wheat pasta, wraps, salas, and protein smoothies. I know when I get back into my Couch to 5k program, I'll see even more weight loss.

Just thought I'd share something that was really working for me!

we have a place that serves all natural, no processed food, near me, not actually in my city, so I try to go there sometimes, all vegan mostly except some chicken best I can tell, their food is good, not the fave of my family, so I can't go there as much as I would like. I wish there was more places like this, where I am located. Glad they have that place where you are, we don't have that chain here.

That's great that you've found something that works for you, you're right it starts with your meal plan. I lost 12 lbs with the meals alone. When I get back to my exercise plan, I'll probably do the same and loose or gain muscle. My problem ia BG lows. I'll get my groove back, thanks for your update.

Discuss with your doctor or Endo. If you're having enough protein you should be able to avoid lows, or you may need to throw well timed snacks in there.

Thanks Pete! I will keep an eye open for them when they come to Las Vegas. (most growing chains eventually do).
