Hello everyone. I am 57 years young and I have two wonderful grown boys ages 29 and 33…I think. LOL I was diagnosed with type II diabetes in 1997…around there. I ignored it for many many years and just convinced myself that it would get better. Not. I now inject 28 units of insulin daily, along with Januveia. I hate it; but I lost an Uncle that ened up a double amputee before Diabetes took his life; so I know the realities of this disease. I also have Hep C and cirrhosis due to the Hep C which makes the Diabetes even harder to control. I am trying to slowly change some of my eating habits to more low fat, no fat, low carb…and more veggies ( I hate that word). It's a struggle everyday and the hardest part for myself is staying motivated in believeing I can make a change. Always looking for a good receipe !!! :)

At least you are starting now. It is better late than never. I know you will find all kinds of inspiration here to do well.

We also have a pretty darn good recipe section. Check it out. 100's of great things to try...even if they do have veggies in them. LOL

I note you took my recommendation friend!

I myself control my diabetes with my low carb/high protein meal plan I devised and have been having success in managing my BG (blood glucose) levels without DM (diabetes mellitus) medications.

Staying motivated IS very important, and I pray you stick around for a long time here because we do a lot of that here. PLUS there is a lot of info and comaradarie between us PWDs (persons with diabetes) here. It is like a big family.

Praying for your improving health
