I'm so happy … I had to share! I lost 10 pounds, blood pressure is perfect, and I'm smiling while it's pouring rain!! Had an A1C done today and hopefully that is taking a dive, like my weight.

I believe we all need goals, we need to push ourselves past that line in the sand so we can make a new one. My goal is 20 more pounds by the middle of June. I have a zip lining date and cannot wait!

Have a beautiful day everyone. *Hugs*

That is great that you lost that, but why did you have to send it my way? LOL!

LOL!! My sister said the same thing. My remark to her as it is to you was and is quite simple … SHARING is CARING =)

I am emailing you 50 pounds back as I type. Oh, I almost forgot "No come backs"
(Okay you have to be 50 or so to know what that means. It is llike in the game of tag where you tag a person and say "No tag backs")

sNerTs1 2013-04-15 14:15:08 -0500 Report

Ha ha ha ha!! While I will not reveal my exact age, I WILL tell you that not only do I know that saying but probably a bunch more that you are thinking of. Yep no give backs, slug a bug and so so so much more. For birthdays did you used to give a pinch to grow an inch? Pull the hair so you don't swear? LoL

I'm going to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY now, so I don't forget :), I'm following you by a tiny bit :p~

Congratulations. I use myfitnesspal to help with weight loss. I have lost 15 pounds by using it so far. Feel free to add me there too

That's wonderful! Many of us fellow diabetics don't realize that a 10% body weight loss brings SO many things back into harmony, such as our Blood Pressures, sensitivity to insulin and lowers our insulin resistance. Keep it up and set new goals!

Thank you PetiePal!! We all learn from each other on here, its truly a blessing to follow and be gifted with that. I want to correct one thing though and apologize if I have misled anyone … My weight loss was 10 POUNDS not a percentage as I am obese and have a ways to go to make that a percentage. Although I am working on it, I just don't like to mislead people in any way. I'm comfortable with me enough to tell you that =) Thank you again for your wonderful encouragement *Hugz*

PetiePal 2013-04-11 12:03:14 -0500 Report

That's ok! I just hit 12.9 pounds for 2013. For me 10% from my starting would be 28 pounds, putting me down to 257. I'm working slowly but even with minimal exercise so far it's been easy watching cals and still eating tastily

That is so true. This group is like a comforting blanket, it wraps you up and has proven to us that we are not alone <3. More times than not, someone has experienced the same symptoms/meds/emotions that you have. You can never learn enough.

Secret ?
Details ?

sNerTs1 2013-04-09 20:02:43 -0500 Report

Hi Tammy! Secrets eh? My "secret" to this is something I wish on none other. I was under a lot of stress with the passing of my dad and a year of a court battle with an ultimate splitting of my family (6 of us kids, split right down the middle). I thank God for the 2 siblings I have left after this mess.

My stress is gone and now I can focus on "me" which is what I was doing before the family mess. I do watch what I eat, breakfasts are higher on protein so I consider them my free meals. I'm allowed 60 carbs per DAY, yes day not meal, so I try to be creative at meal planning.

My other outlet is yoga, I have a DVD on Yoga For Diabetics which works well for me as it focuses on not only my physical being but my mental and emotional being. It also is easier on me as I am not conditioned enough for longer or harder walks … One of those step by step approaches. Once I get stronger, I will incorporate walking and eventually more. I now take the stairs when presented vs an elevator and I park further away so I take a few more steps.

Thank you for all of your encouragement and kind words girlie!

*Hugs* Cheryl

Great post. I'm going through high stress too about my dad's health , my health, and family. I know it will eventually get better.

Where did you find the Yoga DVD? I was contemplating Yoga or Tai chi. I need to stop thinking and start doing, but the struggle.. Anyways.. On a good note thank you for posting! Take care

Hueone 2013-04-10 14:29:14 -0500 Report

Ya yoga is great, as well as meditation. I do both. Hello anyway. Just in one of my funks I'll work it though.

sNerTs1 2013-04-10 09:37:14 -0500 Report

Hi Gwen ~ I was given the DVD through a friend of mine and Im not sure where she had gotten it from. Two things here ~ While yoga is great for my body and spirit, through Tai Chi Meditation I was more able to achieve peace within, especially during the more trying times of my grieving process. I wish you patience and luck through your journey and hope you can release the stress soon, as it can be detrimental to your health and heart happiness. *Hugz* Cheryl

Thank you Cheryl, I'm working through this one day at a time. I'm really concentrating on my dad's health. He's a T2 and battling cancer. So, I'm kinda putting myself on the back burner. I'll get back in my groove. I'm taking "baby steps" . Congratulations, inspiring to see that you have made it through and at peace. :)

Don't forget or neglect yourself. Make sure you take some care time for yourself, every single day.Too often caregives or support persons neglect themselves and then their loved one suffers because you end up with less energy.

sNerTs1 2013-04-12 09:12:51 -0500 Report

Graylin is correct! I'm happy to read that you are tag teaming in his care. You cannot help someone else if you, yourself are sick so please continue to take care of you <3

Thank you so much Graylin Bee!! Its the lack of stress thats working so well for me. I am now eating when I should be and not waiting until I am hungry. I knew better but … I let the stress get the better of me. **HugS** Cheryl

Stress is sneaky in how invassive its effects can be. Seems it can give us many problems. My life getting better sure helped undo some stress induced issues, too. Stress does make the brain fog get a little denser, and we forget the obvious.
