Hi All
It was really nice to find this forum
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetic by the end of December (A1C was 16 and fasting test was 345)
When I went the doctor (my random test was around 595) and I was feeling very bad!
It was a tough time, change everything and I was really depressed!
I took the insulin for 2 weeks, then 500mg Metformin for another 2 week.
I decreased to 250mg for 1 month.
By the end of Feb I got off medication (After a lot of changes)
I got my A1C result last week and it was 6.4 and I feel much better
My concern right now is to gain some weight (I know it's the opposite of what a lot of people with T2 want), I lost a lot of weight and I m not getting any pounds with my actual diet and exercise!

HI and welcome,

You might want to ask a dietician about increasing or changing your diet, but not too much to where your back on your meds…

Congrats that your able to lose weight and get off of them…

Im new here but I lost alot of weight as well but I don't want to gain it back..lol I'm amazed that you were able to get off all of your meds. This gives me hope :) I'm interested in how you did it. I wish you great success on getting some of your weight back. Wish I knew more to help you but I'm still learning. Best of luck!

Personally, I try always to stick to my diet and keeps exercising ! It's works well so far !
What helped me as well is to take as much measures as possible and learn how mu body react to different kind of food/portions
I think it's just matter of time and you should see the result after a couple of weeks
Good luck for you as well, I know it's a bit hard the newly diagnosed but I m sure that you can through this experience without pb
One thing that I m sure about is that this forum is great place where you can find a lot of support and advices
