Hey everyone, hope you all are well. I got laid off last week from so it's been hectic. I'm still in the insulin. My doctor told me today to up my dosage to 45 units of the Lantus. But she said I need a meal time insulin. But I don't hVe health insurance at the moment but I am working on getting some. So is anyone on a meal time insulin? If so, which one? Ugh, another injection.

Hi Mirena - I also take Lantus in am and before bedtime, and before each meal I inject Humalog on a sliding scale - I check my sugar level and go by a chart from my Endocrinologist to determine how much Humalog to inject. This regime has been working very well for me, giving me the best A1C and daily sugar readings I've had in a long time. I also take Metformin daily. Have known I was Diabetic since 1994. Good luck to you and just follow your doctor's orders!
