Would love to hear from some diabetics that have bipolar as well. I just got diagnosed with bipolar and I'm trying to learn how to balance the both now. One always effects the other. The stress gets overwhelming!

I am bipolar. Fortunately I don't get manic very often but do get depressed a lot. When I am manic I don't need to eat and I have to watch it so I don't get careless about it. When I'm depressed I want to eat all the wrong things like anything sweet. It's tough. I find myself needing to watch my blood sugars 4 times a day, remember to take my insulin but especially to be careful about what I put in my mouth. Try not to get too overwhelmed, take it one day at a time. It helps to know what you do when you are manic or depressed and then make a plan for each kind of episode. Without a plan you can get lost. Just don't give up, you can do it. It's hard and you have to work at making the plans but they are so important to help you get through the episodes. Good luck, Lani
