I have a hard time getting up and just walking. My grandmother wants me to go to the gym with her, but I don't necessarily like going there. I love the fresh air. I would rather walk outside. But I still don't have the motivation just to stand up. I spend most of my day on the computer. Any suggestions on getting motivated? I babysit a couple days a week. But thats not nearly enough.

If you sign up for the year it's 44 a month if you pay month by month it's 54 it's cool cause it only takes 1/2 hour and then your up to do stuff for the rest of the day well that's how I think

Pretty bad when granmma can beat you to the gym! I know what you mean. At times I just want to stay in bed, under the covers, warm and secure. But hey, at least you still have your grandma. Go ahead, go to the gym with her. If nothing else it will give you time together that you will treasure down the road.

going to the gym with your grandmother is a good idea.just like daydreamer going to the gym with her friend,you might enjoy going with your grandmother.and if you have a avtive dog like i do,she/he might enjoy going for walks..i know i didnt go for morning walks untill i got mine.now i do,especilly seeing how she loves going for walks and running loss so much.partly how she behaves when we first start out from the house.she attacks my pants cuffs untill we get to the street.and yes thats a funny site,and no she dont bite me..lol

For me it was kind of the same. I think the part that really held me back was the effect on my BG . But after getting a new Dr. that gave me a few pointers I still wasn't really ready to go to the gym. The turning point for me was when my friend asked me to tag along. Once I had someone to talk to it didn't seem like work it was actually kind of fun. In all honesty I feel a whole lot better and after my body got accustom to it my BG adjusted.
So moral of the story find a friend or maybe just try the gym with your grandma. At first I wasn't going to go near a gym I too rather be outside(away from the watchful eyes) but it isn't really as bad as I thought. A friend or even a grandparent can be a great motivator. The turning point is when you decide to give it a try. =) Hope this helps a little.

I am 73 and I workout at a gym three days per week. It keeps my strength and stamina where I want it to be. If I take a trip and do not go to the gym for a few weeks, then I am not as strong and I tire easily. Getting back to the gym and building myself up feels good!
