I am so fed up with the medical community. It seems as though every doctor I see, I have a different opinion, diagnosis, treatment plan, etc. I went to see the Rheumatologist last week, who has been seeing me for the past 2 years. One visit he says I have Lupus, Sjogren's, CREST syndrome, etc., and the next visit, he says something completely different. I don't understand why he can't make up his mind. About the CREST he said, "You have the tube without the toothpaste." Really??? I get he was making a joke, ( I *do* have a sense of humor!), and I know he meant that I have some of the components of CREST and not others, but that doesn't tell me anything. I was told also this visit, that I have a "form" of Lupus but not "classic" Lupus. My blood levels were just slightly elevated when he ran the blood work LAST YEAR. Okay, I know that from experience, some levels fluctuate, so they may be low one time and high another. He says I mostly have osteoarthritis, so my joints are swollen and hurt because of the arthritis, not the Lupus. I am also tired so what's that from?
I guess I just need some assurance that I have some legitimate problems, not that I don't have! Thanks for letting me vent :)

Ask your doctor. Tell him/ her your confused about the diagnosis. Just ask him or tell him, no disrespect, but what is my diagnosis, and plan do I follow. If you've felt confused about this doctor, may be its time to find a doctor that's not confusing, and that your comfortable to talk to.

Howey Nyte

My 2nd wife had Lupis (SLE) and she told me that her Drs didn't get a positive test her first 2 or 3 tries. Keep on him and have him try again. I know it is frustrating and I pray you do NOT have SLE as it is way worse IMHO than Diabetes! Eventually SLE took my sweet "Jem" and sent her to be with God.

I have the same thing I am Sjgren's syndrome which is dry mouth dry eyes if left untreated it causes lupus it is considered a auto immune disorder . Which means an under lying problem caused this to happen . Look up all of the things that you have been diagnosed with on line in web md or your local library in the medical books it will give you some clarity what it all means I did and its all about how you live your life and diet .

Thank you for your reply Claire! I frequently scour the internet looking for answers, but often I just end up with more questions, lol! I have a lot of autoimmune disorders and it's just hard to figure out the why's of it all…thank you again!
