I use Splenda as an alternative to sugar to sweeten my tea, juice or in place of sugar when I am baking.I used Twin Sugar before but it left a bitter taste in my mouth,so I threw it out and decided to try Splenda.I think it is made from sugar, for me it is sweeter than sugar,so when I'm baking if the recipe calls for 1 cup sugar I use 1/2 cup Splenda. It works for me,although I must admit the price is kinda high..lol.
Is anyone using or has used Splenda, what do you think?

You all do know there is baking Splenda that tells the equivalents to use instead of sugar. Plus I use it on cereal also and iced tea. Like others have said you can use all kinds of different spices when cooking. The whole line of Mrs Dash salt substitutes is in my pantry. I use it on everything. Plus if I use salt I use grinder sea salt and pepper I use grinder ones also.

Yes I use Splenda as a substitute in my baking,it's really great to have a substitute for sugar ,so we can still indulge in our "sweet tooth" and still be healthy .Thank you .

Sweets was never my problem. I live in the south and I love my grits, gravies and biscuits. Cornbread, fried chicken, anythng fried. LOL

I use Splenda for everything I need in replace of sugar. Can't live with out it. I drink ice tea, coffee, hot tea. And sometimes when I have cereral that needs a touch of sweet again I use the Splenda.

I have tried many of the other subsitutes, but didn't like the taste or sometimes the aftertaste.

It's so hard to adjust to being a diabetic, even harder still is realizing that you can't have foods, etc that you used to eat or drink. So if you can find a "good" subsitute then "go for it". Yes it is a bit more expensive than some others, espically that "real stuff" (lol)- just do what I do. My spurge on myself is getting the Splenda, or getting getting the Weight Watchers deserts once in a while (if you are able to). Those splurges on yourself make it feel like you really did something good just for you :) Remember you do deserve it..

You couldn't have said it better, that's how I feel and being diabetic doesn't mean you can't have the foods you like eating. There are a lot of foods you can still have ,there are substitutes available that are low cal,fat free, low sodium etc.that you can add to your cooking so you can still enjoy the foods that you like and stay healthy and there are desserts you can prepare using Splenda and fat free products etc.

I use Stevia and a product called Whey low. Let me warn you now,,,lol,,,Do not eat too much chocolate that has been sweetened with Splenda. It will give you gas. lol I agree, Splenda has a good taste, but what it does to me is not worth it.lol

The only sweetener that I use is Stevia. I make sure it is the one with inulin fiber and maltodextros.

I use Splenda to sweeten my coffee or Iced tea. I don't bake so I don't use it for that purpose.

I do buy "sugar free" bakery products on occasion and those are sweetened with Splenda. They taste just like the real deal.

I like to bake ,using Splenda to bake is a great idea, even though am diabetic I still do some baking,I use fat free substitutes and Splenda so I can still enjoy the stuff I like.Being diabetic doesn't mean we can't enjoy the foods we like to eat.Have a blessed day.
