I agree that the side effects would not be good for many. If you are younger and can be active, it might be just the ticket.

I have also not heard about it so I went and looked it up … I take one of the ingredient in qsymia … I take topiramate or also known as topamax the brand name for migraines I have never had an issue with that part of the medication … I hope the qsymia works for you but just watch for new symptoms closely and you should be fine !!!

Howdy Friend!

I have not heard about this medication at all before you brought it up here, but I researched it and found this sheet about it here ~ http://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs/DrugSafety...

Quite frankly Sparrow, after reading the list of contraindications and that of potential side effects I know I could not take it due to my kidney failure and dialysis.

Even if I didn't have that, the side effects would scare me, especially if I were a lady of childbearing age. Having a child which has birth defects would be a hard cross to bear.

Also should you decide to get off the medication, speak to your Dr for instructions as to how to taper off the medication. Otherwise you may experience siezures.

Praying the best for you

James
