Hi ,
I wanted to bring up one thing that I have not seen any one talk about yet DRY MOUTH//
See I know being a Diabetic , makes you have a DRY MOUTH,, but taking some medicines will also cause a DRY MOUTH, , and you don't even have to be a Diabetic to get a DRY MOUTH ,,
See when I was diagnosed with Diabetes , I was put on all kinds of medicines and a lot of them made my MOUTH DRY ,
well now I only take three medicines and one is insulin ,, but of course I still deal with a DRY MOUTH,,,, BUTT, I found something to help with that DRY MOUTH,,
I make sure I drink my 8 glass of water a day, but I also found for some reason when I put more fruit in my diet and fresh veggies I also drink other liquids through out the day ,on top of the 8 glass of water, wooow yes lots of fluids,
sense I have been putting so much liquids in my diet it seamed to have helped me so much more with that DRY MOUTH,, I do not notices it as much now.
Does any one else have any secrets about getting rid of that DRY MOUTH ?/////

I've also had this problem on and off over the years and one product that works well is Biotene gel. It's made specifically for dry mouth. They make a toothpaste too that helps. I never had any fluctuations in blood sugar readings while using this so it must be sugar free. It works if you are in a situation that you can't have something to drink (or the availability of bathroom facilities from all that liquid haha )

UPDATE - Biotene products are sweetened with Xylitol which is a sugar alchohol. In Wikkipedia I found this.
Possessing approximately 40% less food energy,[11] xylitol is a low-calorie alternative to table sugar. Absorbed more slowly than sugar, it doesn't contribute to high blood sugar levels or the resulting hyperglycemia caused by insufficient insulin response

So that's why the Biotene didn't raise glucose levels.. !!! It's not all that expensive either, less than $10

Thanks for the information about Biotene products,

I have never used them before , I will have to give this a try,
I also use lemon in my water , that seams to help also,

I carry my water everywhere I go, except church. I drink all day long and I make sure there's a restroom at close proximity as well. For all the water I drink, I still have very dry skin as well as a dry mouth.

When I can't take my jug of water along, I suck on mints, they help. I get the sugar free one of course.
