Wish they would come up with something like that cause pricking our finger hurts at times :(

I don't trust alternate site readings…until its perfected… when I was first diagnosed I was handed a regular razor blade…so… its better now!

I haven't heard of a saliva test, but many years ago there was talk of one of those devices like hospitals use to test your oxygen content. You know, that deal that fits on the end of your finger. No word on that yet, though. Liquorish

It hAS been years since I have pricked my finger. I use the area right beloe my elbow. Doesn't hurt a bit and I decrease my chance for infection through my fingers.

With the kind of work you do, I can see why you'd be concerned for infection through fingersticks.

I am interested as to where you test. Below the elbow? Is that on the inside of the arm (near the elbow fold) or on the outside of the arm (below the elbow itelf)?

Hey Jayabee. Have you heard about that deal that is supposed to check your sugar that is like the oxygen tester hospitals use? Liquorish

You generally need a meter that is set up to read from alternative sites. check with your meter booklet and see if it will accurately read from any other site than your fingers.

with my meter I can use the forearm or the fleshy part of my palm that works thanks all Linda
