Dad's surgery
My dads surgery went well, but news not so good. He had 2 massive tumors in his liver, so doc had to burn them. He has cirrhosis of the liver, so chemotherapy will just kill his liver. The only save is a liver transplant. Cancer may reappear due to weak liver. He's also a Type 2 Diabetic. Please pray for him.

Sincerely,

Wendy

so sorry to hear this. I will pray for him. I've known some people to do really well after a liver transplant, there is much hope, don't give up on that.

Here's a prayer for myself and all of us that have Diabetes:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you with thanksgiving. Thank you for the body you have given me.

For a while I have been focusing on what is wrong with it, but today I am making the choice to focus on what a wonderful gift it is.

Lord, my body has been broken down and attacked with Diabetes. I know that my family history, unbalanced diet or lack of exercise might be part of the problem. Lord, I take responsibility for the body that you have given to me. I am asking for the wisdom that I need to be a good steward of it.

I no longer am going to allow this disease to steal my joy, hamper my ability to do my part in taking care of it, or cause me to be depressed any longer.

Lord, can you help me to keep my focus on living a long and healthy life? Give me the courage to stick out and obey the instructions and diet that has been given to me by my doctor. Help me to make the changes I need to make.

Help me to pay attention to the people I see that have not taken care of their condition. Please use these powerful living (or dead) examples to motivate me to treat the body you have given me with care, honor and respect.

I realize that food cannot be my source of comfort. You should be. Help me to rely on you to get me through the dark times. Show me the verses I need to stand on so I can be strong.

In the name of Jesus, I cast out the spirit of diabetes and apathy to the spirit of balak. Lord, give me the tenacity that I need to keep making the wisest choices for my family, and me starting today.

Lord, protect me when I am having a low-blood sugar attack. Please give me favor every time that I do. Help me to remember to carry my glucose tests and tabs.

Help me to be wise about the times that I drive, and about planning ahead and around my diabetes routine. Help me to keep this condition under healthy control. Provide powerful angel protection if I get in a position when I may need them. I reserve those angels in advance!

Lord, I know I need to stay active. Give me the wisdom I need to do something active everyday and to keep my weight at the level that my doctor recommends.

This condition is so time consuming and in convenient. Please protect my attitude as I deal with extreme fatigue, irritability, hunger issues, weight issues, frequent urination and thirst problems.

Please bless any wounds that I have to heal quickly and properly and to increase my circulation in my hands and feet. Heal the rashes and skin irritations right now in Jesus name. Lord, correct my insulin imbalance.

In the name of Jesus, I cast out any spirit of heart attack, stroke, blindness, kidney failure, blood vessel disease, amputation, nerve damage and impotence. I will live a long and healthy life if God chooses to heal me of diabetes or not. Thank you Lord for the body you have given me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Prayers are VERY much needed throughout this group, especially prayers offered by sincere believers who do as Jesus taught. See the following:

Here Jesus tells us to actually speak to the “mountain”, meaning speak to the problem. Mark 11:22-24 New International Version (NIV)
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

Here Jesus tells us to actually speak to the “mountain”, meaning speak to the problem. As a former Southern Baptist, this was very new to me, but it's VERY Biblical.

I've personally seen God work through this kind of prayer offered in sincere FAITH. Mountains moved & miracles happened! Let's join in this exercise in faith filled prayer.

My apologies.. May cause liver problems where it leads to a liver transplant, and of course other environmental contributions. But all in all we should be aware what we put in our body.

Wendy, check out Mayo clinic, Jacksonville for the liver transplant. My late bro-in-law got one in 4 months when UCLA said his wait would be around 7 years. Less hospitals/regions feed into Mayo Jacksonville. And they are very caring and patient oriented…he was not a number there. Lots of support for him and sis-in-law. Hugs

Iv been doing more research about the liver cirrhosis. My dad has been a Type 2 for about 30 years. Please be aware that certain medication can cause cancer. I did not know that prescription strength pain medicine, can contribute, and also he was taking Metformin. He took Actos for a few years. Please be aware and research your medication cause and effects, even as simple as ibuprofen, It may be life threatening.

Did you find a direct link with your dad's cancer and his meds?

Gabby, my doctor and other medical professional, I've talked to did mention that Metformin can cause liver issues. My endocrinologist periodically runs a liver test. Also, my father's doctors have been watching his liver for a number of years, he's had hepatitis before diabetes and when they gave him Metformin, they watched him closely.
