Do you have a plan set up just in case something happens? Would you share it with us?

My Husband and I didn't really have a plan until a few nights ago…I was extremely tired way earlier than I normally am so I went to bed…my husband is a bouncer in a bar right now so he works from 9 pm to about 3 or so am…I texted him and told him I'm going to bed, but he didn't get the text for some reason…he called be 15 times that night and I had forgotten my cell phone in the living room…he sent friends over to the house to check on me…made me feel good, but also made me realize that we have to come up with a plan. There are times when I am home alone with our 3 year old…and I'm still new to this…and obviously so is he…

I'm glad it worked out well this time. I have no one to turn to.

My only suggestion for you is to find a good friend on this site…exchange phone numbers and if you don't pop your head in at least once a day…have them call you and if no responce…call 911…lets use the buddy system…

HELLO GODDESS
YES THAT IS A GOOD IDEA TO USE THE BUDY PLAN BECAUSE THIS IS VERY SERIOUS IT CAN GIVE YOU THE WRONG SIGNS, LIKE THIS MORNING I WOKE UP FEELING ODD SO I THOUGHT IT WAS OF LOW SUGAR, BUT AFTER I ATE AND STILL FELT ODD I TOOK MY READING AND IT WAS ON ACCOUNT OF HIGHER LEVELS THAN NORMAL FOR THE MORNING. SO IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND THAT YOU CAN COUNT ON, DON'T BE AFFRAID TO CALL THEM, I LIVE ALONE ALSO BUT MY KIDS AND GRAND KIDS CALL ONCE I A WHILE DURING THE DAY. MY GRAND DAUGTHER CALLS ME MORE OFTEN THAN ANY BODY ELSE BUT THAT'S GOOD BECAUSE I CAN TAKE HER WHERE SHE WANT'S TO WHEN SHE CALLS SNEAKY GIRL.

You should really look for someone in your local hospital; maybe volunteer services can connect you with people who check on people with such severe illnesses, or give them a call once a day. There are places like Easter Seals that are free, and will come out and do an evaluation to see what sort of help you need and how many hours/times a week. I am sure if you look in the yellow pages under county services, you will find something. You really need to check into this; Claudia

actully ,no real plan at all. i just ask my husband to say goodbye to me when he leaves on the mornings he works. this is because if i die in my sleep,i don't want to be left lying in the bed all day long. i might ruin the matress.

OMG How odd to think like that. I wear a Life Alert necklace in case something happens. I always have my cell phone on me in a pocket. I have an extra key hidden where my neighbor can let EMT inside. Plus you get to tell the Life alert people to tell them also.

but really, all jokes aside, i think that it is important for people with health problems to have a plan in place. i would encourage anybody to make the neccessary arrangements!

I think from what I have read from you that you have a plan; and you know what to do; but you also feel that it is better to laugh, then to cry, so you make jokes. I think that is great if that is what you are saying, although this is a very serious illness, you can not dwell too hard, or you will forever be depressed. Claudia, Hope I did not hurt your feelings If I read you wrong.
