I have Type 2 diabetes and have been on varying oral medications for years. Had asked my doctor about insulin in December, but she just changed my meds a bit. I have not been feeling well and my bg readings have not been good, so I started on Lantus Solostar pen on Saturday. Not real excited about the injections, which are pretty painless, but after only 2 days, my counts are coming down and today I can actually tell the difference. I fell pretty good! I look forward to getting my numbers where they should be! Now I can work on getting excited about exercise! Losing some weight would help, too. One step at a time!

That's wonderful! I am on Lantus too. I use the pen also and LOVE it. It's so much better/easier for me than using a vial and syringe. I take 15 units every morning. You WILL come down and feel better. Along with my Lantus, oral medicine, low carb meal plan and exercise, I hover between 90-110 most of the time. When I was diagnosed in August of last year, my A1C was 14. By January 24th I was 5.6! It can be done! Congrats to you and keep it up!! :)
