Thought I'd share an encouraging word. I had a great talk with one of my mentors today and she helped me realize a lot about myself and my walk with diabetes. I've never really listened to anyone's advice who wasn't diabetic because I wanted them to understand. Why would I want someone to understand how it is to be diabetic when it is such a struggle in my life? I wouldn't. First, realize that people will prob. not understand and that's why you look to people who do. Diabetes sometimes will be a lonely walk, and you just have to accept it. Second, diabetes isn't who you are, it isn't what you are, it is simply something that is a part of you. Just like I have green eyes and brown hair, that isn't who or what I am, it is just simply a part of me. And if you're a Christian, keep reading. I was bowing a knee to diabetes instead of bowing a knee to God because I'm letting it defeat me emotionally and physically. I'm choosing to turn back to God and let Him give me hope instead of letting limitations of worldly things define my hope. Food for thought: What gives and defines your hope? Replies more than welcomed! :)

This "new" sense of hope and motivation, I'm hoping it lasts :) haha

quite often we waver and falter because we are human, Michelle, but keeping our eyes on our God helps us to focus on God's power over our changing circumstances.

I pray your sense of hope and motivation continues for a long time however, take a look at the beginning chapters of the book of Job and you will see God's opponent (and ours as well) doesn't like God's people doing well.

I say that so you are not surprised by some challenges which may come up in your life which may call that sense of hope and motivation into question.

I have come to the conclusion in my case, whatever happens to me, even if it is a negative thing which may happen to me, because the Lord loves me, It's ALL good.

James
