I am still moving and groving to my Sweatin' tapes, and Tae Bo. But according to this article I need to be doing allot more! How can you do more when your tired from doing 45 to 50 minutes of straight Tae Bo, and sweating like a wet rat!? That's my question? Here is a good article with 6 different ways to exercise. We people need to get up and move. The fat and calories will not come off by themselves!

Nothing wrong with just walking, 30 min each day. 15 min one way and 15 min back. Or ten thousand setps or 1 mile walk. Plus any thime of the year the scenery is plesant. My usband ans i walk a 1 mil round trip every day and takes 20 to 25 min depending how fast we walk or stop to enjoy the surroundings.
It is helps to loose weight , low impack excerise, just take your time in the begainning. No wear and trar on the body when you have alot of weight to loose. the more you walk your body will statr to build up strength to it. Some with many health issues can start small like take a walk one way for 5min then 5 min back then work up to 10 then 15min. I am only 4'11"should weight about around129 but my weight was up to 159, and now down to 141 and still going down. there are days we don't get to walk but I don't worry about it. Because I know the next few days we will walk again. I just dance around the house with the music I like. If my husband is not up walking, I just just go ahead and walk by my self. it is a mile round trip to walk our block.

When you say more, is it incorporating different exercises like weight training, cardio or circuit training. I've done the Tae Bo and turbo fire work out and most of those are pure cardio. I also fit in weight training like les mills to help build muscle or combine the both. I've read that the combination works best for diabetics.

That is good exercise! I lived in Colorado for many years. As a kid that was one thing I hated to do!

I am glad I live in Las Vegas where if I want to play in the snow I can go visit it and then drive home! I have lived in snow country for a long time before and I feel your pain!

Illinois. My husband is a truck driver and last year he got stuck in a ditch and thought he was still moving. I thank God he had snack bars to hold him through the night. When he asked our Dr. How to lose weight she said eat like your he lost about fifteen pounds. He just watched portions.

I am wondering, Anna, if you might be expecting too much too soon with your exercising.

According to the video in the link you posted it is suggested that up to 40 minutes for 5 times per week is the goal. With you doing 45 to 50 min I think you are doing great! You said: "according to the article I should be doing a lot more!" I think what the article to which you linked suggests is to VARY your workouts. That is one day Tae Bo, one day swimming, another day weight training. Things like that.

Thanks, Jaybe. I was thinking of that to. Because Tae Bo strength's muscles, and burns calories in a quick fashion. I have to skip a few days for a break. But than I don't get the results in loosing weight, when I don't exercise for a few days. I have been doing Richard Simmons Sweatin tapes, on the days that I don't do Tae Bo. I wish I had access to a free use of a pool. That would help. I just may sign up for aquatics again. Hope your doing better by the way :)

Hi Anna.. By any chance is there a YMCA or YWCA near you?? They are usually free or pretty reasonable. Water Aerobics is Great to do, I am a Licensed Water Aerobics Instructor.. but, depending on where you go, some classes can be expensive. If you have taken it before and you know most routines you can easilly put one together yourself and just go to a pool on your own. What is important is the 10 min warm up and 10 min cool down. For that you can do a basic slow water walk and gradually walk faster up and back in the pool then do 40 mins of cardio and 10 mins cool down of fast to slow walking. Where I live I do not attend the aerobics class but I do go to the pool and do my own routines. I go at night, no one is there, I bring my music, I do my routine and it is great. I have the entire pool to myself. Unfortunately i do not have a hot tub to soak in afterwards which is great after water aerobics.

Hi CJ55, No we don't have a YMCA, here, I wish we did! We do have the Okeechobee Sports Complex I haven't been there yet. I am not sure of the prices there. I might try there. I don't know what they offer as far as classes though. I will check them out. Last year I went to an aquatic aerobic class. I loved it, but it was a very small pool, and very crowed. Not enough room to move. I loved the routine though. It was both aerobic and stretching in the water. I hope to find some one that will let me use there pool for an hour or so. That is better for my back, then a land workout.

Hi Anna, i have a horrible back, that is why I got into the pool and water aerobics. Like I mentioned in my last post, always warm up and stretch so you don't pull anything. I do not know your age but when I taught I always offered my clients less if they were older or if they had any type of health issues just to help get them moving. Some places charge so darn much it's crazy! If you find a place to go and would like some help with an all over routine workout just let me know and I would be more than happy to help you. Have a great evening. Hugz…
