I have read this book and it is excellent. It gives a lot of helpful information along with curing your diabetes. I also attend Weight Watchers which has helped me cut my insulin in half and get rid of one insulin completely. It is very healthy. Lots of fruits and vegetables and anything you want to eat within reason. I also started walking an hour a day and this again reduced my need for as much insulin. I have never felt better and so far I have lost 15 pounds. Exercise pays!

Congrats on your weight loss. The older I get the harder it is to lose weight. I was in WW many yrs ago. It's changed alot I hear. My advice is to exercise while you can. It is getting more difficult for me due to pain as I age (plus I've had alot of health problems0. I look back now and wish I got at the right weight yrs ago and now just have to maintain. Losing TAKES forever. I try to tell myself it is just going to keep getting harder so NOW is the time.

I read the book, a friend bought it because she believed what the titile says, ''cure''. I think its a waste of money. Its a lure to take your cash for a dream thats not for real. It made no sense to me. The diet went against everything I had been taught. So i took it to my doctor who said to throw the book away. All the good points can be had much cheaper in diabetic magazines with articles on cutting edge findings. We all know the truth, taking our meds, a good diet with the right amount of carbs to fat, lots of vegetables, excercise, and checking our BS is the way to control this. Don't stop praying for a cure, but until then keep your money

Bertriz20,

The best buy for the book is at Dr. Ripich's site www.30daydiabetescure.com
Please see my discussion reply to Nick1962, shown below my main posting. As I said there, "Dr. Ripich's plan is mainly geared toward defeating Type 2 Diabetes."

And again, I have no financial or any other interest in any of this. It's just working for me & I enjoy sharing it.

Dr. Stefan Ripich's "The 30 Day Diabetes Cure" is easy to read, understand and is fascinating. It cost me $57, shipping included. It’s a large book packed with valuable information & well worth the $57. When you buy the book, they also send you 8 special bonus PDF files of facts, recipes, exercises, etc. that can help diabetics. The book contains all kinds of advice, vitamins & supplement recommendations that fight diabetes & reputable companies that manufacture them (Not all vitamins & supplements are created so your body can actually use them - some just pass on through, unused.), recipes, mental & physical suggestions to help us reduce stress and get in both mental & physical shape, etc., etc..

Dr. Stefan Ripich ND, CNP is both a Naturopathic Dr. (ND) - healing the natural way without prescription medicines AND a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) – also trained in traditional prescription medicine. He does recommend seeing your Dr.. Since my Dr. said I was “pre-diabetic” I’m trying this natural method without prescription drugs & after 9 months, it’s working for me with everything regarding diabetes showing normal. Also my cholesterol & blood pressure are now normal.

Dr. Ripich believes in our body’s natural ability to heal, IF we do the correct things. He has a 30 day plan, with each day’s plan being a little different by adding things, but building on the previous day’s plan. This approach gradually guides you in changing your lifestyle and eventually defeating or dramatically lessening diabetes. He says IF you continue his plan for the rest of your life, you will see permanent and positive results. I have for 9 months now and it’s actually common sense and fun. It does take discipline but I’m now much more healthy, energetic and feel wonderful. To me, the discipline involved in my lifestyle change has been well worth it. I miss junk food less and less.

His co-writer & business guru, using the “show name” Jim Healthy (what a name!) are now sending me other emails trying to sell me other "helps." While those may be of value to some, I believe the "30 Day" book & the PDF files are all I need & well worth the $57. I chose to first thoroughly digest & do what his book says and go from there. I lost 40 pounds in the first 3 months and have kept that off. So far, after 9 months, Ripich’s plan is working for me.

Two red flags popped into my mind before ordering, the book title that suggests there is a 30 day cure for diabetes and the name Jim Healthy. But after researching both I’m confident that I have found a common sense, natural plan that has “cured” me from pre-diabetes because I will gladly follow it for the rest of my life.

You can order the book from Dr. Ripich’s site: www.30daydiabetescure.com I checked Amazon.com, Alibris.com & Half Price Books and in those places the book was more expensive with no bonus reports. You get more for your money if you order it from Dr. Ripich’s site listed above.

Another book that was suggested to me from a member here is Stop PreDiabetes Now by Jack Challem. I’ve found it to be a valuable supplement to Ripich’s book. I ordered this book from Alibris.com for $4, including shipping.

By the way, I have absolutely NO financial interest in anything mentioned above.

Check with your local library, also if you know others with diabetes start a book club. Everyone chips in and shares the book. Good luck!

ShaniLian, those are excellent ideas. My copy has the copyright date as 2010 so it has been around for awhile and may be in a library or a book club now. This is the type of book that I use over and over because it has so much helpful information in it. It's sort of bleeding yellow, because of my yellow highlighter. :o)

Thanks Nick. So it's still a better deal to order it "new" from the Ripich web site for $57 because they also send you the following 8 "bonus" reports:
Dangers of Diabetes Drugs, Deadly Diabetes Lies, Diabetes Healing Recipes, Diabetes Healing Super Foods, Diabetes Healing With Yoga, Dodging Complications, Healing Your Pancreas and Mistakes Doctors Are Making With Diabetes.

As a reminder to all, … Dr. Ripich's plan is mainly geared toward defeating Type 2 Diabetes by mostly or completely eliminating the symptoms with common sense, diet, exercise & stress reduction techniques that we must follow the rest of our lives. He says you should still monitor your condition, see your Dr. and not return to the bad lifestyle habits that caused this condition.

He also claims many of his Type 1 patients have significantly improved their conditions and are experiencing the following: the lowering of meds., the decreasing of many negative physical & mental symptoms, more energy, increased positive mental changes/activities like happiness, peace, far less depression & much less negative thinking, etc., by following his methods.

I will add a suggestion to the above. Add God to the equation. For extra help, supernatural help, I involve God in this challenge. He is a power much greater than the physical, the temporal and He will help you just like He’s helping me. He is VERY real, loving and wants to be involved in our everyday lives. Check Him out.
Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

I do not look at it as a cure but rather a new way of life and changing a few things I needed to change anyway. The book makes lots of suggestions about good foods for diabetes so yes I will definitely Watch what I eat and enjoy the foods that are good for me while taking a lot less medication.

James , come now , come now , you & I know that she's not cured of Diabetes … All that are educated on this condition know that @ this time there is NO CURE FOR DIABETES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Type 2 can go into remission but if person does not continue the steps he/she took to get condition in remission it comes right back with a vengeance … These books can help , as she said she uses less insulin now and had lost a bunch if weight … That's awesome !!!!!!!! Yet books with the word CURE are very misleading … It gives false hope … Sad that they are allowed to publish lies … We all type 1 & 2 hope and dream of a day where no one will have diabetes … Yet until that day which has not arrived … THERE IS NO CURE FOR DIABETES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are so right. This is just a way to make money. We can only control this condition and we have to work at it. I get more confused by looking at all the Diabetes books on the shelf. I don't buy any but just sit in the lounge and read.

hey, Manapua :), all diabetics with half a brain know there is no cure for diabetes. There have been some people who have literally escaped it but only by totally reversing the way they lived their lives, eating etc. And those were people who didn't have huge A1c #s yet, barely above normal. All they had to do was take better care and keep on the right track and they escaped by the skin of their teeth—so to speak. I know it's upsetting to those of us who have to live with the disease to see anyone use the term 'CURE' or 'CURED' for/of diabetes, but with all of those exclamation marks…it's like you're SCREAMING! Really? Seriously?
Your point comes across with just one :), I'm just saying…

Anybody who uses the word "cured" when refering to diabetes is either trying to rip you off and take your money, or then are flat out lying.

jayabee52
jayabee52 2013-02-20 14:17:10 -0600 Report

Yes I know that, Manuapua. But since the word CURE is used, not remission, (she used the C word in another discussion on the same topic — Ripich's book) Cure to my way of thinking says I don't have to worry about it anymore. I can continue my life as I had before my Dx of DM.

We know that a cure is not yet available using that understanding of the word.

I would not exactly call Dr Ripich's book lies, as he gives some very useful information about managing one's diabetes. BUT it is dececeptive IMO in that one can get that information without paying the big bucks for the book and shipping.

In fact I had on my own, developed abnd used a plan which does much the same. But in no way am I claiming I am cured! In fact I know I must continue with my meal plan or I will get on the BG roller coaster.

You always have good things to say. I'm wondering if cure can be used in the sense of curing an unhealthy diet and thus transforming it into a diet that aids the body rather than damaging it. Cure, like so many other words, thoughts, ideas get tossed around like a major salad. Perhaps we should look to curing our diet and diet habits. It's a bit like the expression, Do what you love and the money will foillow. Eat what you know is best health-wise and improvements will follow.

jayabee52
jayabee52 2013-02-25 00:37:57 -0600 Report

IMHO the use of the word "cure" in any sense is deceptive and leads one to think that one can be done with diabetes within 30 days. I had discussed it with the principal promoter of that book and he admitted in a round about way. that there really was no cure, only control of the disease so that the one afflicted did not suffer further consequences or increasing complications.

Marketing hype directed at those who are looking, wishing, hoping that there's a way out? A captive audience? Whether it's diabetes or any other health condition. Even for a cold people look for a cure. Cure is a mighty overused word and becomes a carrot. I'd like to read the book out of curiosity but the price for the book is high and not worth the need to satisfy the curiosity.

So, Exercise Junky, are you cured, then, as in no longer need to concern yourself about what to eat and sticking your finger to get a BG reading?
