Lately my daughter wakes up with her bs between 190-260. She is not up in the middle of the night and I'm not sure why the numbers are so high. Any feed back?

I had the morning high problem many on here told me to try eating a small snack before bedtime. That seem counter intuitive to me but after months of having this problem every morning I finally tried it. I'll be danged if it didn't work like a charm! After all this time u still have a small night time snack. Maybe some nuts, a spoonful of peanut butter, even a 1/2 cup of dry high fiber cereal. Please try this and do it every night for at least 1 week. I hope you gave as much success as I have!!!!

She may be experiencing the "dawn phenenomenon" aka "liver dump" overnight. Liver dump is an emergency thing which is in all of us whether we have diabetes or not, which keeps our Blood glucose (BG) from going too low after an extended period of not eating. The Liver dumps glycogen a glucose like subatance into your bloodstream to keep our brains and bodies functioning.

When I had that problem I had to take a BG reading before I retired. My PCP told me that if my BG was below 130, I should eat a small snack of an apple with a protein like peanut butter. That would give the stomach something to digest at night and would keep my BG at a level where my liver would not dump. It worked like a charm for me

You may try giving her a high fiber snak befor bead ,this helps me have good bs in the morning.
It's just got to be low carb to work.
I use two to three Triscuts and it works for me
May work for her too.
Best wishes
