Being different from the person next to you is what makes you special, and unique!
(You wouldn't want to be a clone of someone else, would you?)
Your diabetes is just a condition, something that you can manage, it doesn't make you any different than anyone else as a human, maybe just a little bit sweeter!
So cheer up, take care and enjoy your life, there is so much in store for you in life, don't let anything depress you…(( Hugs )).

Even Diabetics are different one from the other. What you are is a fine person with good qualities. Some of your strengths may be anothers weakness and vice versa. Look at all the good you have and build your thoughts on that…It is true God made only one of you and broke the mould and how good is that?

We do feel different, we have different worries and concerns than our classmates. but we are also very lucky! I have had diabetes for 15 years (since i was 8) and because of it i have developed an amazing Math(carb counting and insulin)/Science ability and interest - which turned into a degree in Biomedical Engineering, I had the opportunity to work at a camp for diabetic kids for three summers and met some of the most amazing people in my life (and first boyfriends)! Got to take kids caving and whitewater rafting 3 times FOR FREE, got to impact their lives. Recently i moved to a new city and because i have type 1 i have an instant group of friends (and a new biking group).

yes it sucks sometimes but you just have to not let it hold you back. I've won soccer championships, won track races and completed Triathlons. And could i have done with if i hadn't had diabetes - probably but would i have had the drive too? I'm not so sure.

but again it does suck. I have had to go home from parties early, or stay back from events because i wasn't feeling well but everyone has stuff to deal with in their lives and this is one of ours. The great thing is we do have the power to control it, to own it and to conquer it.

Everyone individual is special in their own way, cheer up sweety, I know it's hard but don't worry about other people.

My Mom is off the beaten path. She jokes around a lot (82) and sometimes people will say, "Mrs E, you just are not normal" Mom's reply, "Good. After 82 years I am a success. Who wants to be normal?"

You are . . . in matter of fact everybody is differnt than everybody else. What's wrong with that ?

We ARE different each in our own way , not because if diabetes … I know it can seem hard as a kid , yet celebrate your differences … Nothing wrong with being different … You bring more to the table of life being different …
