I just need help all over in everything…
I have not been eating the way I think I should since I was a kids diagnosed with D, I am not sure what is right and what I should stay away from. I cant get my blood sugars level because me and the doctor can not figure out the right basal rates and carb ratios and bloodsugar ratios for me. When i try to exercise my bloodsugars always go loww then i correct ( probably over correct) with food and I am stuck back up in the above 250 range and still can come down. I just need help… I cant do this alone and I feel like it is never going to get better. My A1c's have dropped down to 9.3 ( from 15.7 3 or 4 years ago). know I must be going in the right direction but its not fast enough. Now i have macular edema in my left eye and have to see a retina specialist. I need help anything advice, tips on people to see, questions i should be asking my doctor to help.

I am on an insulin pump and have been for about 10 years. I have really bad anxiety over my blood sugar dropping and getting low. my last A1c went up to 9.5…

Hey Allison - can you give us a little more info on your current regimen? What kind of insulin do you take? What are your morning numbers? The first step I would do is record your morning numbers for a few days and adjust your basal rate until you feel confident with these numbers.

After this step you can work on the Carb ratio and start getting your pre and post Bolus numbers working for you.

Hi Allison … I had a continuous glucose monitor put on me for a week with that info and working with my doctor & pump trainer we were able to figure out my ratios of insulin to carbs etc … Are you taking shots or r you on a pump ??? I was on shots but still has a hard time controlling blood glucose … Been on pump since November . Still have ups & downs but for the most part more stable an controlled … A1c of 13.7 went down to 7.5 and doctor as well as myself think it will be even lower next time … I don't know if my experience will help in anyway … Yet if you ever need to vent or a listening ear etc … I'm here , I'll listen …
