The holidays showed me how healthy I normally eat, but . . .

We had family and friends in for the holidays and I was trying a lot of new recipes. I was appalled at how "normal" recipes call for so much butter, milk, cream, sugar. The carb count was incredible.

It all pointed out to me how good I really am about what I eat. But I felt somewhat disappointed that I haven't been healthier (and lighter) because of this.

Sometimes I feel I should subsist on green veggies and water :(

Jewish people have a Christmas tradition: they eat at a Chinese restaurant. I go to a wonderful Asian buffet that has Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai and American food. Every year I overeat. Can't do that this year since my bariatric surgery. I am planning ahead as to what I will eat at this meal. And I will eat with chopsticks as I can't get as much food into my mouth as I could with a fork or spoon. I enjoy my friends who go with me each year.

Howdy YogaGal.

I agree with you that the carb count for the typical "Westernized" meal plan is abysmal! And it is great that you eat so very well.

You have not shared (that I can find) information on what kind of meal plan you are eating. Omniverous, Vegetarian, Vegan? I can only guess from your last sentence of your original post, it would most likely be Vegan.

I probably best give you a chance to answer, so I am not a pontificating idiot.
