wow!! congrats!! I would love to have that number. I have not had mine tested in quite some time, but I doubt I am there, I stayed at 5.4 a long time, and slightly higher. How did you do it? I know my diet needs more tweaking for sure.things like whole wheat flour for baking that I don't do more unsweetened almond milk perhaps, things like that?

Victoria. if you think Bonnie`s posting is neat… last tuesday I got a great new Chevrolet after having earned $9801 thiss month and-more than, ten/k last munth. without a doubt its the most financialy rewarding I've ever had. I began this 9-months ago and almost immediately began to earn at least $75 per hour. I use this web-site, jump14.com

Thank you everyone for the lovely support. It's nice to know I am not the only one out there that is dealing with such a horrible disease like this.. My heart goes out to you all that are struggling atm. But know your not alone in this battle..

I think what helped me the most was I wasn't aiming for any number particularly. I just wanted to get away from my first a1c which was 9.1 I thought I would come down a point or two but nothing like this. The hard work has paid off and I will continue to work hard. I know diabetes is so unpredictable and things change but for now all is good… Thank you everyone for cheering me on it's so worth it. I want to be here for at least the next 20 years for my kids and family :)

WAY TO GO LC…when I got down to 5.5 they tried to tell me I'm not diabetic.
that made me so angry I didn't go back for 5 months and when I did I went prepared. I took all my information with me I needed to prove my case. I'm very proud and happy for you. Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately some medic's just don't care Valentine. I am very lucky that my medical team especially my doctor he said to me straight up.if your not prepared to get this under control there really isn't much I can do..All the medication in the world wont change the fact that if you keep going you will be dead sooner than you think.. That was such a wake up call for me. I remember asking him when I found out if once it was under control if it would go away.. His exact words where nope once a diabetic always a diabetic…I came home did a lot of reading and now things are looking up for now at least :-)

Like you once I found out that I was a diabetic I read all I could get my hands on. I took my management into my own hands. Oh, I kept my appointments with my Doc and medical team, but I took my eating and excercise to the max. It paid off as I mentioned in my last comment to you. But, I agree…once a diabetic always a diabetic. But, it doesn't mean your life is over, does it. We're living proof. Hugs, Valentine Lady

What did you do to get your sugars down?

lavenderchild 2013-02-08 08:40:36 -0600 Report

Hi Mirena, Sheer hard work.Loosing almost 40KG's in 6 months, Low Carb, eating right, 5KM walks every day of the week. It's not been easy but I have done it.

That's awesome. I am trying to get my A1c back to that. Since being switched to Januvia from Actos, my sugar has spiked. I have joined Weight Watchers and I am now doing walks every day after work. Congrats!

moon74 2013-02-10 09:02:13 -0600 Report

When I was on Actos I gained 30 pounds in a month. All of my friends lost weight with it and loved it. But I gained. Januvia didnt work for me at all. Neither did Byetta.

Mirena 2013-02-10 09:03:14 -0600 Report

Yea I've been taking Januvia for a month and I don't think it's working because my sugars are still up.

I always give every thing at least 2 - 3 months. But I found the meds that worked for every one else did not ever wake for me. I am doing the Victoza now. And I am having to do it very slowly. It about killed me the first 2 weeks. Then I did more research and started with .06 and each week I go up one click. Good luck. Pay attention to stress. Pay attention to food. And when you get sick it goes up. And when you have your monthly, it goes up. Good luck to you. Email me and we can talk. I live on facebook.

Stay strong.. I am positive you can do it- but don't beat yourself up if your finding it difficult, it all takes time and if you find your not winning the battle that's what the medics are there for to help you. Good luck!

lavenderchild 2013-02-08 03:44:34 -0600 Report

Hi Manapua, shear hard work- I have lost almost 40KG's. I walk up to 5Km's a day and very low carb all in a matter of 6 months. At diagnoses I was 9.1. I know that doesn't seem high to most but for me it was the wake up call I needed :)
