If any of you practice holistic healing, what are some good remedies for diabetics? What do you do for stress, and how do you meditate? I LOVE listening to music! The music I listen to is mainly oriental, Celtic, spa, or healing music.

I use Reiki. And I have a friend who uses Qi Gong. And I love both of them. And they help tremendously. Now this does not mean that I don't take medicines. I do meditations and Yoga. I love Ti Chi. I pray a lot. Music is very important in my life for my well being and my mental state.

Hello Nyc-chan:

Meditation can be helpful reducing the physical/emotional tension we hold in our bodies and assist us producing all kinds of good by-products. However, there is no cure for diabetes, unless we are Canadian lab rats or large dogs according to the latest (?) research.

Music, candles, cushions can be a pleasant trail of "bread crumbs" to begin the process, teach the most simplistic skills-techniques. But music is a mental distraction, and while pleasant does not lead to the "right location".

Consider, taught to meditate only using music, without it, will you be able to get into that mental state? A lack of physical distractions, visual/sounds forces us to concentrate internally. A difficult but positive skill.

Meditation is not something done only in a dark room, but eventually a tool to be taken with us into regular daily life!
