mine are the things I was raised having,my bigest is potato's in all there great ways of cooking them, like fried tators an onions, bigest of all is baked with sour cream an cottage cheese, frinch fries with chili an cheese,an you have to have a pork tenderline horse shue smother in a chedder cheese sauce, then there is home made chicken an noodles or home made beef an noodles with mashed tators,I've had these great foods ever since I started eating,I never had baby food it was potato's,smashed veggie's an homemade noodles, bisquits an gravy,I crave thiese foods all the time,I try not to have them cause of there cards but its useless at times,im not strong enough to fight them off so I give into temptation an have a plate full of there splinded delight, there just so good,so how do all of you fight the urges of your food nemesises of your childhood favorets

Fresh tortillas made with white flour, mmmmm as a little girl grandma would be making them sometimes called the two sided bread since they were so thick we would them up while they were warm and let the butter melt in between them. My favorite!!!!!!

Steam white jasmine rice. I grew up eating as a side for breakfast, lunch, dinner, but not good for my BS levels. This alone can raise my A1c.

Well, you've definately missed a treat - beer battered cheese. Or should I say you dodged a bullet.

I can either take or leave potatoes. If I want some, I eat a little. I am dying for mashed potatoes or gravy. Not something I eat on a regular basis. The only time I have French Fries is at the Flea Market when I am there Sat. and Sun. If I want some the vendor I always go to will let me have 6 with any other food I order. That works for me. I have not had any in a couple of months. Sometimes if I want more than that I make sure that I walk them off. Since it is slow at the market, I walk around it a couple of times.

It is all about control. It is not written in stone that you cannot have foods you enjoy as long as you eat in moderation. I love rice but I have that once a month and I only cook enough for one meal so I cool less than a half cup.

Chocolate is my downfall, I have been eating a Hershy bar for two weeks, one little square at a time. It kills my chocolate cravings.
