I have been pre-diabetic in the past. The last time I had blood work done my Dr. did not say anything about me still being pre-diabetic. I forgot to ask. For quite sometime now my feet have hurt especially my toes. My toes feel like ice cubes to me but others say my feet do not feel cold to them. Ive been afraid to go get checked. Today I looked @ my toes & they were slightly purple. Does that mean anything to you. Thanks for your time. Linda

Purple toes could be several things, Linda, but I will not hazard a guess. This is a situation where you should seek medical attention ASAP!!!!

(You may not pass "go" and do not collect $200.)

Go directly to an ER or an urgent care.

I used to be a trained Certified nurse aide and my instructions were to if I see something like this in my patient's feet to call 911 and get more competent medical attention.

You could have a clot somewhere which may be occuding your veins somewhere The things about clots is they can break loose and potentially cause a lung embolism, a stroke or heart attack. Clot busting medications may be useful but they have to be used with 3 hrs of the onset of symptoms or the embolism, the stroke or heart attack occurs.

I pray it is not a big problem for you but I'd rather you be safe than sorry!

Seek medical attention.
This could be diabetes related or a host of other things including frostbite, poor fitting shoes, circulatory issues on up to conditions like Chilblain Lupus or Raynaud's. No matter what it's not good.

Oh, and welcome to the family here! (now go call your doctor)
