First, it's great that you are working as a team. That will ebb and flow with time, but if you can keep the team effort together, that will do so much for getting through tough times and growing in your love for each other.

James has given you the discussions on carb counting, so here is one of my favorite videos on it. http://www.diabeticconnect.com/videos/39-my-life-as-a-pin-cushion-carb-counting

The reason you have to know how many carbs he's eating is that will directly relate to how much insulin he is needing to take. His ratios may have to be worked out with testing and the doctor's input, but if you keep an accurate count of the carbs he takes in, it will help with the treatment of insulin for him.

Enjoy the site. There are lots of great folks here. Maybe hook up with some who use the pump, as they say it helps them in their control so much.

Howdy Allie,

Your fiancee may not be a fan of researching things, but many of us on DC are.

And please feel free to ask! Don't feel like any question is dumb here, because IMO the ONLY dumb question is a SINCERE question which is NOT asked!

A question may not occur to me, and if someone asks something, I often end up learning as much or more than the person asking it!

As far as counting carbs, you may wish to read through some of the articles and the discussions which may be found here ~ http://www.diabeticconnect.com/search?query=c...=

I pray we see you on the discussions often!

James Baker
