Hey just googled this med again and went to the official site for this med … And contrary to what u think , they DO WARN ABOUT STRONG CANCER RISK !!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't believe me or think I'm a liar please feel free to use the Internet go google it and you will see that I am not lying … I'm not saying u will get cancer I'm saying that they r saying there is a strong risk … Look @ my grandfather died @ 99 years of age , smoked since his teens never had cancer though strong risk of cancer from smoking … Yes a product may have a strong risk and u may not develop anything … I was just repeating the very same warning that the manufacturer of this med put out …

Hey manapua, I do believe you and thank you for your concern. I used Byetta for six years, the same molecule Exenatide is in the Bydureon I use now, and had no ill effects or issues whatsoever. These medications all work very similar, and really do help a lot of people. I thank you for your posts and appreciate your comments as always.

Been on Victoza for over 2 years now, lost 40 lbs. A1c is 5,1 to 5.3, my Bg runs about 98 to 118 with spikes of 143. I would say it works, however with that being said, let me say this, YOU STILL NEED TO WATCH YOUR DIET AND YOU NEED TO EXERCISE, Two very important key items. You have to get up off your butt and move. Thanks for the soap box.

I have been taking Victoza since november 2012. I was very ill the first month then I got better. Gained 50 lbs taking actos for 8 months. Everyone says they loose weight on the Victoza but I have only lost about 15 lbs. it has helped my BG. my A1C was 5.4 last month.

Yes, I've been on it now for 10 months, was on Actos and Janumet before that. When I started seeing and Endo last March, he changed it. It's been great, my BS have been stable, except thru the holidays. I've lost 60 lbs since I been on it, one of the very few side effects. It's a once in the morning shot for me. My Endo, Cardiologist and my Opthamologist have been happy with the results…

No experience with Victoza, but I use Bydureon which works the same way. Mine is a once a week shot, Exenatide. My endo told me that rats don't acquire cancer the same way that humans do manapua72 and that it was safe for me to use. I have been on it for almost a year and doing very well, last A1C was 5.6 and along with diet and exercise have lost 29lbs and maintaining my goal weight. There is a great group on FaceBook for Byetta, Diabetes and Victoza, check it out.

I just started victoza today. I was a lot freaked out since this the first time I have ever had to inject medicine myself. I guess time will tell.
