Enjoy my humor…

My Like/Hate Relationship With Diabetes…

I Like that diabetes has forced me to take better care of myself.
I Hate that it waited until Now to do that.

I Like sticking needles and lancets into me.
I Hate that I just lied about that.

I Like that I feel healthier and more alive again.
I Hate that I'm too fat to do anything with it.

I Like that my pharmacy delivers.
I Hate that it takes them 4 days to find me.

I Like that I've gotten better at shopping for a diabetic's diet.
I Hate that I have to eat it, too.

I Like that they've found that sweets are bad for a diabetic.
I Hate that they've found that sweets are bad for a diabetic. I Love sweets!

I Like that I have been losing weight since I started exercising
I Hate that it's only been 4 pounds.

I Like that I don't have retinopathy in my eyes.
I Hate that I can only see out of one eye…it makes watching 3D movies very irritating.

I Like that I've found out that pizza isn't really good for me and I no longer eat it.
I Hate that I just lied again.

And last…

I Like that I've found a great diabetes family/forum to express myself.
I Hate that I'm on a short leash.

I like that having diabetes has been the common bond that introduced me to some of my closest friends.
I hate that having diabetes is what actually brought us together…

I like that medical professionals are making leaps and bounds everyday towards finding a cure.
I hate that too many people out there take advantage of that.

Not bad but I don't spend energy on hating things. I spend my time finding ways to deal with what I dislike.

These are great! May I add some?

I like that I have all my toes,

I do have one question though. What do you mean that you are on a short leash?

luked 2013-01-22 08:59:47 -0600 Report

Short leash means I have all confidence that we can beat diabetes
I hate that I just lied again

GabbyPA 2013-01-22 09:36:38 -0600 Report

LOL...Maybe you are on a retractable leash and you have not figured out how to let the line out?
