Well, it has been a little bit since I have been on here as things have been busy for me. All the medical tests that needed to be done before my surgery was to be done.
I had my Gastric bypass on Dec 17th, 2012 done Lap via DaVinci and my surgeon also had to take out my Gall Bladder due to the stones they found in the week before when they checked via Ultrasound. I was in the hospital 3 days and when I left I left without my diabetic meds. I still do my blood sugars to keep watch on it-but, I no longer take the meds.
Right now I am up to the Puree/soft food diet. My Bariatric dietician has me doing 3 meals a day with 2 protein shakes and the rest is fluids-keeping hydrated.
I only eat 2 tablespoons of whatever I eat at the time per meal. That is all my pouch will accept. Pouch is small. Right now it is still healing. Later on down the road I will be able to eat a bit more at a time.
I exercise with my indoor exercycle and I walk around inside my building and when hubby takes me out. I also use my building's treadmills.
I am off work until Jan 28th due to my job at the hospital is a physical one and I would have to be able to help pull up patients to be able to work and my insides are not ready , yet.
But, I will be glad to get back to work. It has gotten boring. I am not used to being off this long. Oh, well-got to get better and get used to my new pouch.

Carol

Hi,
Was it the full gastric bypass? I am going to have the sleeve gastrectomy when i have my surgery. I have 16 lbs left to go and am hoping to get it off before the end of Feb. Would like to have the surgery in March.
