You know how a lot of times pregnant woman and other people crave the things their body needs, well why do we crave chocolates and sweets? Is it physical or a mental thing. Or does our body need it, is there something good that actually comes out of it for some people?

I don't know about everyone else, but I constantly crave desserts. I have taken to haunting the recipe section here for nice very low carb ones. I have sure found lots and have appreciated all the people who have taken the time to post them. Also, my cravings often make me just go to the fridge a get a nice kosher dill pickle instead of a sugar free snack. This gives me more greens and lots less carbs. lol

Great idea; but I did not know that it was ok to have a bit of sweets when you
were diabetic, I would just be so worried about not stopping once I started. Thanks all

I think craving chocolates and sweets are both mental and a little physical. My diabetes educator friend would always have a piece of dark chocolate a day and she says that she will coach her patients on how to handle those cravings and how most diabetics can have a little bit of sweets or chocolate in moderation. Check with your doctor or educator regarding their thoughts…
