Thanks for this discussion. With all our pecan trees, we have plenty of pecans and this slide show helped me to not feel guilty for eating them. It showed me the benefits of eating pecans. Tony5657 in New Braunfels, TX

If I noshed on a handful of nuts, I would end up in the hospital. So many people are now allergic to nuts and can't be around them. I think there should be alternative to nuts for healthy eating for those of us who are allergic. I have a harder time with asking if foods are cooked in any kind of nut oil or contains nuts than I do with being diabetic. I can't even eat fruits with a pit so that eliminates cherries, peaches, plums, apricots etc… Every diet I get these days has these fruits on it even if I tell the nutritionist I can't have them. Woe is me at times.
