I have visited the site many times last month and thought you would get a badge for number of visits …Tell me what I am doing wrong or right.

dolphins2 2014-01-02 10:59:53 -0600 Report

I have been on the site many times in a month and never get a badge is anyone monitoring? How do I get another badge also how do you give hugs? liked old format\

GabbyPA 2014-01-03 16:14:19 -0600 Report

to give a hug, you just click on the profile of the member you want to give a hug to. There is a box that says "write a message" and below that you will see a present and "add gift". Click on that and it will show the gifts you can give that member. Choose one by clicking on it and then click on the green button that says "share". That is how you give messages that are public and gifts.

To earn badges, you have to see what you have to do to earn that badge. Like the hugging badge, you have to give at least 10 hugs.
Some of the badges depend on other members "liking" or "replying" to things you post. Some you have to do a certain thing within a certain time frame. Which badges do you want to earn? I can help you understand how they work more specifically if you want.

CJ, can you let me know what activities you should have been getting points or badges for? We're checking into it.

CJ55 2013-01-15 10:28:53 -0600 Report

If you go to the photo that you want to delete and click on it. Then under the picture and caption you will find a "delete" link. Just click on that and your photo will be gone. Now...I don't know if it works that way on the mobile, but that is how it is on my computer.

Well that sucks. I use this by cellphone app only and I've only got to use diabetic connect a total of 6 times since the last time there was a update, due to the app not likening my cellphone. Please keep in mind not everyone hads the newest fancy cellphones to use the app.

manapua72 2013-01-11 18:16:34 -0600 Report

It would be nice to be able to post pictures … I have tons of AWESOME diabetic related pictures I would love to share … Also I get these emails saying I have received badges and that members of DC have sent be things but I never get or see anything … Perhaps it's because I use a mobile app ??? I use an iPhone for this … I think there r those that r gonna hate me for saying this and others might secretly wish they had been the ones to say it … Could we ( DC ) be a bit more like Facebook ???

CJ55 2013-01-13 16:58:37 -0600 Report

manapua72.. I use my iPhone, iPad & laptop. You can post pics by going to your profile page.. Next to your picture is say change pics .. Update pocs etc.. Click add a pic and you can post anything on your iPhone. I cannot figure out how to delete a picture. Also on profile page you will see (top rt corner) home.. Profile.. Inbox. If your inbox says 1 then you click it and you will have a message from someone. Also tou can send pricate messages that only you & rhe other person can see. I will sens you a few things right now. Private message me back to show you received them. Hope this helps. Hug CJ

I hope they fix the sign in problem. I just had to change my password again today. This is a pain because now it is one more thing I have to remember.

I checked remember me so I would not have to keep going through the sign in screen. I have had to sign in every time I come to this site and it is getting on my nerves. Changes seem to bring problems in some places while enhancing others.

jayabee52 2013-01-11 13:32:38 -0600 Report

I just noticed that the suggestions for new friends hasn't worked since the changeover either.

It is not a big thing, but I kinda got used to using the suggestions to invite folks to be my friend. I will now have to do it the old-fashioned way.

ConnieMarie 2013-01-11 08:45:32 -0600 Report

one feature i don't like that has come to pass and i know why it was implemented but i am adding my 2 cents…
"password expired"
i have brain damage and there is a reason i have the password i do is so i can remember it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i've had it for years that is why i can get on here. but no one thought about that…the stroke shot my short term memory and so chances are tomorrow i won't be able to log in - i won't remember what i changed it too…the mobile app stopped working on my phone and i tried reloading it but still gives errors. *gives mean mug* >:(

jayabee52 2013-01-11 12:34:31 -0600 Report

I didn't like that either. I pray you wrote down your new password so we can see your smilin' face again in the future!

Hi me again ;) … Since I had a little time to look around I wanted to suggest that maybe it is possible to add a part to the log book where you can add what you ate, and how you felt and how much medication i.e. insulin you take and maybe that you could print it so you could take it to the doctor with you for those of us who do not have a smart phone ! this way we have all our info with us every time we go see our Endo or even our PCM , which would make our doc visits so much easier :) and a lot more helpful since the doc can pinpoint why we have issues … like you write down sugar before breakfast 65 felt shaky … After breakfast 99 … Had eggs one slice of whole wheat … Whatever … Before lunch sugar was 115 after lunch was 138 had chicken soup with carrots and brown rice … Before dinner sugar was 165 had fever … After dinner 168 chicken broth no appetite did not feel good sweating … Stuff like that and when you go to the doc he can look and see that your sugar might have been a little high that day cause you where sick not because of what you ate … These were just examples not actual results !!! I hope you understand what I am trying to say…and maybe add a list with foods on there that with conversations for starches on their and one for glycemic indexes just some thoughts ! :)

Lady, I made a an excel spreadsheet to use as a log book. I added columns I needed. You can do this and add symptoms with the signs and take this to the doctor. My doctor loved mine because we were monitoring my Blood Sugar, calories and amount of food I was eating.

Lady.Grantham 2013-01-09 13:52:20 -0600 Report

I like the way it is … I know I just joined today but I really like the easy of replying to someone… The easy way to sign up … I wanted to sign up to different site before I found DC which is 1000 times better By the way and I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to post on the threats and sign up or anything like that …maybe you could give the headlines different colored codes for type 2 , type 1, insulin resistant type diabetes so it might be easier to find post for us to find particular things we are looking for . I dunno like I said I haven't really had a chance to look around much but so far this is the most awesome site I came across !!! Thanks PC

I check in on this site at least once a week, sometimes daily. My FAVORITE thing is the log book - my wish is that you could add a note feature on it. I love that I can print it and take it to my endocrinologist without him having to use a magnifying glass to read a handwritten logbook.

My second favorite thing is the discussion board, and I refer to it often to get insights and ideas about things I struggle with.

My third is the recipes - most people in my life know that I HATE to cook - but some of these recipes are so simple and healthy! I was so happy that I made a pumpkin dessert here that my kids loved and it was okay for me to eat!

Thank you for Diabetic Connect…it was hope to me at a point in my life that I could have given up!

I would love a book section to come back. We did a couple of contests last year and if the participation could be brought up I would like to see more of those.

On my behalf, change is always welcomed!
As far as to whether it's good, or bad only time will tell, but I firmly believe that the Alliance Health "Connect Communities" serve a great purpose by offering people support, education and a chance to be heard, so whatever you have in store for the future concerning this wonderful family can only enhance what we have going on here!
Bring it on!…Lol.

I dunno, Jeanette, how can one improve on perfection? I pretty well like DC the way it is.

jayabee52 2013-01-09 14:02:33 -0600 Report

Oh I just thought of one little tweak. In the logbook, it would be nice for our out of the USA friends to have some way to toggle the Blood Glucose measurement between our "customary" mg/dl to the nearly worldwide mmol/l measurement. I believe a function whereby we could place a note with a reading which would indicate a reason for an aberrent reading. Someone else suggested adding a food log also.
