what is everybodys new years resolution? Mine is to give up all (fizzy cordial) soda. I drink far too much of it even though it is sugar free so I am going cold turkey on 1st January 2013. I will see how long I last

At 70 I am pretty set in my ways so I guess I would have to say is Stay Healthy by following my diet and exercise.

happy new year to you. I usually don't make resolutions because I don't keep them anyway.

You can be soda free!! I have for years now. :)

My goals are to get even healthier — in the last year my a1c has gone from 8.4 to 5.7. Stronger - continue working out with my trainer; she's amazing!!

I just hope that the new year brings more blessings. I don't make a resolution so that way I avoid stressing over it.:) But, good luck with yous.

I don't make New Years Resolutions. The dead of winter is not my time for resolutions or changes. I make them in the spring when the earth wakes up, flowers are budding and the grass begins turning green and the energy is right and ripe for change.

Thanks Relly, but here in the USA there are changes coming with the turn of the year which we'll need MORE than mere luck. We'll need the blessings of the Almighty!

we sure do need al the luck and prayers we can get, this country is just going down and has been for so many years, keep hoping some things will change the economy will get better in the new year.

Yea, I hear about it in the news all the time I do hope that things will be ok for all of my American friends

don't know if you'd heard, but this afternoon they merely kicked the can down the road about 2 mos. So it'll be ok for the immediate future but we're in for a rough year of brinksmanship I suspect.

BTW saw your new pics. They are beautiful. And you dog is cute as a button!

well my personal situation is in the hands of the Almighty. I am always ready to go "home" when He calls me. Until then I will persevere! I may not like it but will persevere!

I wish you the best on your new years resolution! But as for me I finally figured out(took me a good 5 years or so) that new years resolutions don't ever work for me. It's just something about it that makes me want to not join the world in making one lol. I start goals throughout the year (other than beginning of year) that way I won't feel the extra pressure of others knowing what I am trying to accomplish. Make any sense? Kinda hard to explain:\

Since I'm newly diagnosed, I'm taking a hospital diabetes class in Jan and Feb, just started working with an Endocrinologist, gradually working back into cardio, strength training, stretching and a 30 min yoga class once a week and going to meet with a nutritionist for meal plans. I have to be focused on my health but first and foremost, I serve God and my church how and when I'm able. So, I need health and stamina.

My resolution is to be less critical and judgemental of others, and to continue helping others as usual, as well as to help create a better world while i can!

Learn & train myself to eat smaller portions , we tend to eat too much here in the US . Then the food I do consume I want it to be healthier . Exercise on a regular basis … Over all I want 2013 to be the year I regain my health or as much of it that I can get back …

My New Years resolutions are to be debt free by April. Lose weight (AS USUAL) eat healthier (whole foods). My A1c is 7.2. I would like that to be <6 check bg more often. As my doc wants me to check before driving and I always forget. Exercise more. And to be, more kind, understanding, and patient. LIFE IS TOO SHORT AND I WANT TO LIVE IT LOVINGLY!

Happy New Year back to you. My New Years resolution for 2013, is really not about Heath. My resolution this coming year is to Laugh more, Love more, and Hug More. There has been to much sadness in the world, and I would like to start with me, and to try and make it better for the people around me.

Happy New Year Rellypoo! I have a few: 1. Continue exercising and eating right to lose the last 14lbs of my goal. 2. I am going to walk in my first Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes in October. I want to be in good enough shape to walk the 2 or 3 mile course instead of the 1 mile course. 3. I want to hit 6 or below with my A1C. 4. I want to do something that I never imagined myself doing before ( I think it will be zip lining!). I'm pretty confident that I can obtain these goals. Best of luck to you in 2013!

Hi Rellypoo, My New Years Resolution is to not eat out while at work. Although I usually eat the same foods, it's costly and then I eat larger portions and higher fatty foods, (cheesy chicken enchiladas). So I will make sure I plan my meals on the weekends and pack my healthy foods, am wanting to lose 5 pounds! Fizzy cordial soda, sounds yummy, never heard of it! You can do it!
