I have all the family issues that you have. My dad died two years ago of a massive heart attack. Heart disease and diabetes run in my family my family and several had had heart attack. When my father died I called my dad's doctor and told him that i wanted a complete work up of my heart. They found somethings that they are keep a eye on, but i feel so much better since a done that. Maybe you can talk to yr doctor about this since heart problems run in yr family. I hope your sister does better. I am praying for you.

Sorry to hear about your sister. Hoping for a full recovery. Heart problems run in my family also. Scary, especially as I get older.

Thanks James … I'm not sure if she was taking care of herself diabetes wise , meaning I'm not sure if she was testing daily or even if she was taking her meds or not … I guess I'll find out soon …

heart attacks can be one of the complications of having diabetes. That is why many Drs put PWDs on statin medications, on the theory that if the cholesterol is kept down it will cut down on heart attacks .

I however never had a problem with cholesterol. I discontinued the statin I was given. I now use CoQ 10, an essential to keep one's heart beating strong. (statins are said to use up CoQ 10)

It is definitely better if one does not smoke at all,

I will pray for your sister's speedy and safe recovery
