Hey Katie,

Here, you have already received several, very valuable nuggets of information & all are worth keeping in your "mental" bank. In a nut shell, whatever it takes, please stay motivated. You can whip diabetes, mentally or even physically. You're very young, very pretty & I see in your profile, you're very talented. I never made the honor role in high school. In the "dumb & dummer" group, I was the "dummer." :o)

You can get through this challenge but it's up to you. You don't have to let your mind control you. With practice you'll find that you can take charge of and control your mind into positive thinking where you can alleviate the negatives, start having victory after victory and then you'll be encouraged & want to take care of your body. You have lots of thoughts, but only one body. With your positive thinking/focusing on caring for your body, you can have a long, happy life. You can do this, my friend. :o) I'm sure you will.

I disagree with your statement that you "suck" with diabetes. It's not you that sucks; it's the diabetes that sucks. You're young, intelligent and appear to be resilient (from your profile). You have what it takes to conquer this demon and you can. Sometimes all of us need a necessary kick in the a$$ to motivate us. Consider this as our friendly kick. :o) Hey, again, you can doooooooo it!! :o)

Stay motivated Katie !!!!!!!!!! I know it's hard !!!!!!! There were times in my journey ( w/diabetes ) that I just gave up and didn't care … I've paid the price for those times … Not taking care of high blood sugars is no joke … Take care of yourself Sweetie , one day @ a time …

Watch it . . . those hotties on the hockey team may have most of their teeth missing.
I made a similar promise to my 13 yr old son . . . if he gets an "A" in both Math and Science this year on his report card I will buy him an electric bass guitar.
I hope he gets his A's and you get your toothless hockey player :)

Hey, regarding your promise, with an electric bass you can always steal the amplifier cord and get some peace & quiet. :o) LOL My son had a full drum set - a VERY bad move. I had to walk down the street to get away from the "you know what." . LOL …Tony5657 in New Braunfels, TX

We make lots of deals as we go through life, Katie. If the hottie on the hockey team motivates you to take care of yourself, do it! Enjoy, then when that gets old and some other motivator comes along make a new deal with mom. What's important is that you care for yourself. Eventually, you will be able to do it because you want to be healthy, for now, do it for the hockey team!
