What is your favourite food to eat on Thanksgiving? What is a good diabetic Thanksgiving? How do you celebrate Thanksgiving? I don't eat turkey, since I am a vegetarian. I have been since last Summer. We celebrate Thanksgiving by going out to eat, instead of cooking. We are not a big fan on cooking. If any of you guys go out to eat, what is your favourite place?

I love thanksgiving! I eat everything i can. Now I just have to eat smaller amounts. I do have to say I love meat, duck and ham are my favorites. I have always loved veggies. I make sure I have lots of greens, creamed onions, and mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar and pecans. I would have that over deserrt any day! I have been out before for the holidays.Being an army brat we went to the base several times over the years, but i prefer to stay home. I love leftovers too much!

Turkey! (no gravy) And all the low-carb veggies I want. I skip the dressing or stuffing and white potatoes, or just have a very small serving of one of them. And eat the pumpkin pie without eating the crust. Leftover turkey sandwiches are the best!

Yep!! The turkey is your friend. We are also going to have mashed cauliflower and pumpkin pie without crust and made with stevia blend. I do have to save a space for my home made cranberry sauce on my bird, but other than that we try to keep the carbs in the deserts.

As for eating out, we have only done it a couple of times in my long 50 years. But if I was going to go, I would choose Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving meal. They have home cooking and you can get low carb plates from them that are killer good.

Good tip about Cracker Barrel, I've seen them but haven't been in one. It just doesn't look like a low-carb sort of place, so good to know they have choices! Have a great Thanksgiving, Gabby!

They make it so easy. Their regular menu has a section of low carb meals and it lists the carb count for your meal right there. They are high protein and if you get things such as green beans instead of the mac and cheese, you can get out of there for under 20 carbs. I love it.
