Sewing, quilting, reading and traveling. We just returned from Panama. The Canal is a marvel. Hard to believe it was opened in 1913…nearly 100 years ago! The people there were lovely despite my very limited Spanish language skills.

Well, I like lots of things! I love to cook for my family and collect cookware. In the summer I really enjoy bluegill fishing most of all. Year round I read and then read some more! Fall and winter I sew or do hand sewing projects. Right now I am creating a Disney princess jean jacket outfit for my great niece. Spring brings out the gardening, container mostly and herbs for that summer grilling season. But my all time favorite is hanging out with my sweetie! He is my rock, my center and I love being with him. And in between all that traveling to see our DS and family, (in the military) and we do day care for our 4 year old GS. Whew!

I play tenor sax in a concert band, enjoy reading and learning more about diabetes. When I find the time then I watch old westerns on the Internet and knit or crochet. My doctor thinks that I'm a busy person :D and likes that. I'm 71.

Ooooh we've got browns here (probably smaller though). They smoke up nice!

rellypoo 2012-11-21 15:26:45 -0600 Report

are we talking about trout

JSJB 2012-11-21 16:26:05 -0600 Report

Yes we are and I will be up in the Poconos standing in a freezing mountain stream trying to hook a few.

JSJB 2012-11-26 03:23:48 -0600 Report

Most of the streams around here are junk and not worth fishing maybe that is why I stopped along with other reasons but with more time on my hands I will travel for a good stream.

I sure was, fighters they are! They're awesome I've been fishing with spinner and have been lucky enough to find some holes where they will jump out of the water for the spinner! What a rush!

A little while back I would tell you Motorcycling but it is going to change in about a week. I will be retired so out comes the fishing rods. I also like growing veggies, fruit trees and now long walks with Leila my grandaughters german shepard. I guess you can say anything that does not involve work.

Jayabee and rellypoo
I sent a beautiful love song to you
Pavarotti, he's the best
I thought he would fill your hearts with zest
I can see you two dancing into the blue
Spinning and turning
and a jitterbug too
I thought rellypoo
would sail into port
meet up with jayabee
and do a dance and court
but neither one
had further to say
'bout getting together to dance and to play
It's really sad
and I feel so bad
that for both of you
a love won't be had
It seems this post has faded away
and the dancing and play
will come on another day !

You trying to spark a match Jigsaw? SuzyQ might not like it.

As relly told you don't quit your day job. Check out this mini movie ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i2s3Upm8yM

Plus, if memory serves relly is relationally occupied as well.

also who is to say I haven't PM'd relly my phone #?

jigsaw 2012-11-19 19:17:42 -0600 Report

Ok, I know i'm not a matchmaker, and I wasn't trying to be ! (-; Two strikes on my poetry, however is blow to my ego ! Here I thought I was an up and coming poet with diabetes. I guess I'll just have to accept just being someone with diabetes ! Thanks guys !!! )-:

So rellypoo you don't think I'm really Poe, instead you think I should be a comical schmo !

Woodworking. Made this Mission/Prairie floor lamp out of oak and brazillian cherry
This simple art deco tabletop mirror for a friend who makes and sells jewelry
And this mission oak entry set

Lizardfan 2012-11-24 09:22:22 -0600 Report

You are very talented! Great job!!

Nick1962 2012-11-24 16:04:57 -0600 Report

Well thank you! Most of it is from wood piles that had already been picked through by the better furniture makers so it was cheap or free. You get all sorts of mis-matched wood grains, but occasionally I score a piece with an interesting pattern that i celebrate like the "pond ripple" pattern on the front of my hall table.

I enjoy fishing and boating also. I still play around with my guitars. That goes back to my teenage years when I played in a band. I still like to experiment with music.
I'll try to send you my home made video of my fishing experiences .

jigsaw 2012-11-18 09:44:21 -0600 Report

jayabee52 2012-11-17 21:40:34 -0600 Report

can't come to Tazmania due to my kidney issues and dialysis, (hoses are too short — LoL!) but when I was on dialysis the 1st time I started dancing again after being out of it for a couple of months. So you'll have to come to Las Vegas. I know of several venues (mainly in casinos) where they regularly have east coast swing (aka "Jitterbug")

I also know several other forms of dance, so you would be most welcome.
