Help!! Anyone know this info??
Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!
Ok I have a question about food that you buy at stadiums, arenas, etc. What do you think would be a good option?
I have been so good with my diet, exercising, and taking my medicine and I have good control. So I thought that I would give myself a little treat tonight when we go to a hockey game.
Does anyone know how many ounces are in a regular size bag of cotton candy? From what I can tell, there are about 28 carbs in 1 ounce.
How about the popcorn? Really bad?
Any suggestions on how I can treat myself without getting TOO far into the danger zone??

First of all…thank you ALL for your feedback! I decided to go with a soft pretzel w/mustard and a diet soda. I gave my hubby some of the pretzel and had a spoonful of his ice cream. I just got home and checked my BG and it was 127. So not bad. As much as I love cotton candy, I was a little nervous to try it…maybe one day. Thanks again :)

I'd go for the hot dogs myself. Good balance of protein and carbs. Maybe sneak a taste of a friends cotton candy and popcorn.
There are 26.3 grams of carbs per 1oz serving of cotton candy. There are 6 grams of carbs per one cup of buttered air popped pop corn which is usually what they have at arenas. I would not touch the cotton candy and go for the popcorn, hot dog and diet soda. You can always take some nuts with you to give you the crunch you want during the game.

Actually, I don't think there is an exact answer to your question. It depends on a few unknown variables. The type of meds you are on if any, how active you are, which foods your most sensitive to, and how advanced your diabetes is to name a few. Last but not least, how cautious do you want to be ?
Here's what I do when I cheat, say like with a slice of pizza ! I get on the eliptical, or walk a mile or two. Gotta do some cardio for at least 1/2 hour. Then my bg (blood glucose) comes right down ! Sometimes I take 4 ounces of inner leaf Aloe Vera also, and it really works for me as long as I'm doing most of what I need to do.
I say, go have some fun , keep the quantity of junk food to a minimum, and don't indulge to often. The less frequent the better ! Just my two cents !
