Hi, just wanted to let you know that I have been trying to loose weight since May of 2000! I started exercising in the gym doing our cities "The Biggest Looser's" contest. I stopped after about a month because I wasn't ready for the gym. I did aerobics through out high school, in the '80s' and kept it up over the years. In 2011 I volunteered at our church for the after school program. One of the activities was doing Tae Bo. So I worked out with them. I started doing Tae Bo at home through You Tube, every other day. Eventually I got my energy back. I was able to move faster. I got better at doing the moves to. Now today I am doing advanced Tae Bo! I am now officially under the 200 mark! My blood sugar hasn't changed yet. We are working on getting my thyroid level down because that is causing the slow weight loss. I am telling you this because, it is possible to loose weight, as a diabetic considering that everyone is not the same. It works for me. It might work for you to. Walking helps your blood sugar to stay down. My goal is to reach 175 by Christmas.

Congratulations. Take it from me, every pound lost and not regained is a plus and a blessing. I lost weight by slowly slowly changing the way I cook, and my portions. Then after being diagnosed with diabetes, within 2 years, the sugar came out of the diet. And even more changes about the way I looked at and thought about foods. But, for me, the weight loss did not take care of the diabetes, except for helping me to control it better because of the changes in my diet. I'll pray that it is what you need to become diabetic free. Liquorish

Congrats on your success!! I too have been undertaking the weight loss monster, and so far since August have lost 20 pounds by journaling everything I eat and doing Zumba 4-5 times a week. I don't really have a goal set for Christmas but my overall goal is to reach 135, I weight 205 now, was 225 at my heaviest. I have arthritis and some days it is tough to do the exercise, but I know that doing it a a slower pace is better than not doing it at all. So I push forward!! Good luck with your continued success!!

Congrats Anna. Great job. I have been losing weight since I was diagnosed. So diabetics can lose weight if they work at it.

I just walk myself, I gave up looking for work and retired at 62… now I have a
small dog walking pet sitting business… it forces me to walk! and my husband
and I are happier for it.
