just a reminder ,and I need it sometimes. you can have the same meal and numbers be different afterwards. At this restaurant today for lunch, I met two friends and I ordered something that I have ordered twice before, in the last few months, a chinese dish, (I go easy on most chinese food, esp rice and noodles) anyway, it was the habachi express with chicken and veggies, lots of great veggies, the sauce is light and hardly if any sugar at all, so I know it is safe for me to eat. The first time I had this dish, over an hour later, my BS was about 150 or so ,and the other time it was much lower, and today it was 122 over an hour, but less than 2 hours, afterward. yeah! So that higher number at dinner that night months ago , may have been partly what I had to eat earlier that day. most chinese and asian food is okay for most of us, just have to watch those sauces, and like I said, noodles and rice. In this dish, they use fresh squash, zucchiini, bell pepper, carrots, (I watch those) bok choy or something like that, red onion, it's delicious. Tonight, the kids want to go to Ci Ci's Pizza, I am okay there too, I just have a little fiber and protein an hour or so before I go, I eat a salad first, and I can eat almost as many slices as years ago, they have the most thin crust I have ever seen and the slices are very very skinny. I love their taco pizza! i just watch the portions a little. Four years ago when I was diagnosed, (4 yrs ago this month) I thought I had to completely give up all pizza, but I have found that I don't as long as the crust is very thin and I just eat less of course. Anyway, it's a great day when I don't have to cook! lol

Lol, i have an even better reason for eating at home. I cant afford it. But i do love going out but its reserved for date nights with my husband, birthdays, anniversaries. But i do love a burger. Discovered lettuce wrapped burgers and fell in love. I try to have one at least once a month

I know how you feel Tabby. I rarely eat out unless it is something I want that I am not going to cook at home. I usually eat out after running around all day. I have noticed a difference in numbers when eating out if I leave from home and go to the restaurant as opposed to running around first.

I don't eat Chinese foods because of the seasonings or sauces. I don't care for the flavor. I stopped eating pizza years ago. Domino's was down the street from the fire house and would bring us their mistakes of canceled orders. We would have a dozen variety of pizzas on the weekends and I got to the point where I could not get one slice in my mouth.

I try to eat most of my meals at home so I can control what I eat. However, my birthday is Saturday and I might go for a crab cake dinner.

Sometimes the cooks change the recipes, sometime there are different cooks who may vary the ingredients.

That's why I like to eat most of my meals at home where I fix them and know what is in them.

However it DOES get old cooking everything for yourself.
