Hello everyone,
I am a newbie here on diabetic connect and was wondering if there where any Australian on the boards?

I have found this board to be of great help to me and the information I have been reading has been amazing..

I am also looking at making some new friends from O/S so I hope to get to know you at some stage..

I just saw your post. I hope you find the friends and support you need here. This is a great site for diabetic support.

Thanks Turtle.. I have such a hard time working out the different glucose measurements from Australian to overseas as your AC1's are the same as as the normal every day testing here in Australia..

That has come up occasionally during the 4+ yrs I've been on DC. I found and have shared this converter tool/calculator between the mg/dl metering system, currently used in the USA, and the mmol/L metric in use seemingly everywhere else. You may find this tool here~

There are folks from "down under" who have been on DC during the time I've been active here. One who has not been active posting here since 2010 is "cc9" ~

There is another from Tazmania "rellypoo" who pops in here from time to time ~ who posted here last Oct.

No doubt there are others from down under. You could try to find members from closer to you on the "mingle machine". click the link on the upper right hand of the page saying "members" and on the landing page "Browse Members" you'll see a check box which says "Location is near ______" (your city) then adjust the sliders and click on those profiles who come up to make a friend or follow them.

Pray you find success in your search.

We do have a few fellow Aussies here. I hope they find you. I have been to Australia, does that count? LOL I was there for the Olympics in 2000 and enjoyed your country from Sidney to Cains. Beautiful place. The people are wonderful and there are no words to describe the beauty of the flora and fauna. I absolutely loved my time there.

Welcome!! I am in NY. I love this board too. Everyone is very nice and extremely helpful. I was diagnosed with T2 in August so I am new too. It's great to make friends and speak with people having the same issues as you are.
