Hey everyone! Ok I'm very excited and happy so I have to share…today I got the results of my first A1C since I was diagnosed back in August. I ended up in the hospital with a bad infection. My BG was 377, my A1C was 14, my total cholesterol was 232, and my white blood cell count was off the charts. Today, my A1C is 7.1, my total cholesterol is 194(without meds!), my white blood cell count is in the normal range, and most importantly…my liver and kidneys are functioning at 100 percent!! Yesssssss!

Congrats! I've been working hard at control since my "re"commitment to control after an A1c of 16…I don't get retested until the week before Christmas so it'll be a challenge. I'm using you as inspiration.

Thank you! You can do it. Believe me, it hasn't been all rainbows and unicorns LOL. But i've committed myself to it and i'm going to stick to it. Good luck in December!!!! :)

Thanks…sometimes it's more like "tornados and alligators" isn't it…I keep finding out that certain foods don't bother me as much as others, but at least I'm not afraid to try them again.

I'm still learning myself. I have been trying to stick with fresh foods…veggies, fruits, etc. It got me right down. The best thing is that i've found that I still get full and don't crave sweets as much as I thought that I would. It's working. Slowly but surely, i'm gaining control.

I guess with the ER visit and admittance to the hospital, the need for sweets escaped me, except that I am working some dessert type foods into my menu. I love looking at the recipes on this site.

Sweet! Nice work! I'd do the happy dance too, but me and Harlen doing the happy dance would just look too weird. How about a fist bump?
