Hi ladies…I have a question about BG readings and your time of the month. Do you find that you BG numbers rise a little at that time? I am a little bit higher than normal right now, but luckily not out of control.

Mine do for sure I keep close track of when I am going to start and then will either eat very little carbs or will increase Lantus by one unit! It's a pain, but cravings kick in so I make sure I know what's causing cravings and learn to keep certain foods at bay!

Yep! I have found that my numbers rise a bit when it's getting to be that time of month. Like you said not dramatically just a little. My normal readings first thing in the morning are between 60 and 100. I find that my morning readings at that time will be between 100 and 120.
Oh the joys of being a woman!!

Yep, mine sure do (did). So does my craving for carbs. That was my tell tale sign that it was coming. I wanted to eat every carb in the house....all at once.

Ok, then i'm not alone LOL I've ALWAYS wanted to eat, eat, eat right around that time and it's no different now I guess. It's kind of weird. I haven't had consistently higher numbers. But i've been testing more the past few days - more out of curiousity than anything else - and i've been 108 or 111 one time and 145 the next time. I figured it had to have something to do with hormones LOL. Thank you!

hormo nes definately alter bg levels right before your period it is common to be higher if you check often enough it's almost like g control instead of birth control a small measure to ascertain trends during the month it's helpful to check to find your pattern being aware that it can change at any time hope this helps
